Boy Names for a Girl: Freddy

I know this might be a wierd one, but have you ever considered the boys name [name_u]Freddy[/name_u] for a girl?

I mean, we could use it as a nn for [name_f]Freeda[/name_f] or something. What do you think?

i think it’s fine as a nn but i just don’t personally like it for a girl as a whole name. it works for freeda, fredricka etc though !!

I wouldn’t use it on its own but I think something like [name_f]Frida[/name_f] nickname [name_u]Freddy[/name_u] is really spunky and fun. I actually knew a [name_f]Federica[/name_f] ‘Freddie’ when I was growing up.

A friend named her daughter [name_f]Winnifred[/name_f] and she goes by Fred/Freddy…it is super cute on a girl!

Yeah I like it! But I wouldn’t use it by itself - I’d probably go for [name_f]Frederica[/name_f] nn [name_u]Freddy[/name_u] or [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] nn [name_u]Freddy[/name_u]. And I also prefer [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] slightly more than [name_u]Freddy[/name_u] :yellow_heart:

[name_u]Freddy[/name_u] is pretty cute on a girl - though i like the look of Freddie!!

I worked with a lady named [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] may years ago. She was beautiful and so much fun…

I like it as a nickname for Frederica/Frederika or [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] but not so much on its own. It’s cute, though!

I could definitely see a little girl named [name_u]Freddy[/name_u]! I would pair it with a longer name, probably [name_f]Winifred[/name_f]. [name_f]Freida[/name_f] nn [name_u]Freddy[/name_u] would be cool!

As [name_f]Frederica[/name_f] is a totally legit long form, Freddie/Freddy is completely unisex to me even though I would expect a boy to wear it as a full name based on people I’ve met.

There is a youtuber named [name_u]Freddy[/name_u] Cousin [name_m]Brown[/name_m], [name_u]Freddy[/name_u] is her ‘whole’ name! I think it really suits her, and it could definitely work for a little girl!

i love freddy(g) maybe more than freddy(b) ! it could totally work on it’s own, but i think also these full names may work:

winifred

I have never considered it before but I love it!

[name_f]Winifred[/name_f], [name_f]Frida[/name_f] and [name_f]Frederica[/name_f] as [name_u]Freddy[/name_u] is so cute. I also think it could work just fine on its own.

I like it a lot and I don’t think it needs to be a nickname for something. It’s adorable on its own.

I was just about to mention her. I think she’s also a great example that boys’ names can work not only on tomboyish girls, but also on girls who lean more on the feminine side!

I would, however, use Freddy as a nn for something like Winifred or Frederica.

I love boy nn on girls with a more traditionally feminine full name to go with it.
I like the spelling [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] better, but other full names for it are [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] or [name_f]Frederica[/name_f].

i think it’s so cute for a girl! i do prefer a lot more the spell of freddie tho
i like it as a nn for frederica / federica or winifred / winnifred
