[name_m]Hi[/name_m], all! So, I’ve been really curious about this. I find it so much easier to come up with girl names, and normally enjoy them much more. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you like girl names or boy names more? Or am I just weird and most people don’t have preference? Or, are you in to finding unisex names that work on both genders? [name_m]Just[/name_m] curious! Thanks for your time!
I find boy names easier! For girls I’m super picky, and end up switching them out a lot. However, once I find a girl name I really love, I get more attached to it than I do with my boy names. So I love girl names more, but my boy list is way longer!
That’s interesting, I think I’m opposite! I’m a lot less picky with girl names and my lists are super long (but with a few enduring favorites). I only have one boy’s list, and it’s not super long, but every name on there I like a lot. [name_f]My[/name_f] favorite boy name is [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_m]Archibald[/name_m] (nn [name_m]Archie[/name_m]).
My girls’ list is insanely long–I think I’m simultaneously less and more picky about girls’ names, if that makes sense? Basically, I like a lot of girls’ names, but I tend to be very fickle about them and have trouble sticking with a set I love for any extended period of time. [name_f]My[/name_f] boys’ list is smaller and I have a clearer list of which names I would actually use. I’m working on solidifying my boys’ list now because I find it a bit easier, and then I might attempt girls!
I’m a lot like that! I like most old-fashioned feminine girl’s names (I even secretly like [name_f]Ermentrude[/name_f] from [name_m]Little[/name_m] [name_f]Princess[/name_f]). I’m not super into masculine unisex names, though I do really like [name_u]Tate[/name_u].
I have alot more girls names on my list but I’m less picky with boys names. I find it easier to pair first names with middle names for girls if that makes sense. But I definitely need to condense my girls list
There are lots of girls names that I play with (and a few I adore), but for boys my list is smaller and stays more consistent. I like the idea of unisex names, but there aren’t too many that I love. I have a small list of them but I don’t like that list as much; I don’t like the sound of many unisex names. I like all kinds of names but unisex names are the hardest for me to love.
Hi there.
I find boy names easier. [name_f]My[/name_f] list of girl names that I love enough to actually use is teeny tiny. They just seem more special, & therefore harder to find ones that are worthy enough. There are a bunch of boy names that I think are charming & can put them on my ‘probably could see myself using list’.
For girls I have: [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f], [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] & [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]. That’s it.
For boys I have: [name_m]Ewan[/name_m], [name_u]Nolan[/name_u], [name_u]Julian[/name_u], [name_u]Shiloh[/name_u], [name_m]Liev[/name_m], [name_m]Colm[/name_m], [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] (can’t use due to family issues, but I love it enough), [name_u]Finn[/name_u], [name_u]Max[/name_u], & probably a few more.
This is me to a tee! Exactly what I was trying to say!
I find girls names so much easier! I have a girls list as long as my arm & I love making combos with them. With boys I really struggle, I don’t feel like I really love anything and I find myself pairing everything with [name_u]James[/name_u] because I can’t get combos to work
Oh my gosh! This is literally me. I can’t get over [name_u]James[/name_u]; I love it so much and I think 50% of my combos have it. Girls names are just so much easier somehow, and I struggle with boys’ names too!
I have a much easier time with girl names. I do love unisex names, but it’s not really in the sense that I pick names that’ll work for either, I just like the style (for example: [name_u]Billie[/name_u] [name_u]Max[/name_u] on a girl has been a crush of mine the last few months). I think there’s just less of a selection for boy names.
I find it easier to like lots of girls names, but easier to love a few boy names. Any of my favorites I could easily see on my son. For a daughter, I would have fewer ride or die picks.
This is pretty much exactly how I feel. I have a lot of girls’ names I like, but my top boys’ names I feel more settled, passionate, and comfortable with.
Girls names - i really struggle with boys names and only really like a select few
