I am trying to come up with some possible baby boy names that start with the letter V for my future children. Being from a Russian-speaking and Eastern European family where babies are typically named after deceased relatives by either using the exact name or another name that starts with the same letter, I would like to continue that tradition with my first child. Specifically, I would like to use a name that honors my late uncle, [name_m]Vladimir[/name_m]. Because I believe that name might be challenging for a child growing up in the US, I would prefer to use a name that starts with the letter V and is also one that can be easily pronounced (and spelled) both in English and Russian. For example, if my husband and I were to have a girl, I might consider [name_f]Violet[/name_f] since it can be easily translated to [name_f]Violetta[/name_f] in Russian.
Basically, I’m looking for a ‘language-fluid’ name that has both a Russian and English version
I think [name_m]Viktor[/name_m]/[name_m]Victor[/name_m] is certainly the best option for an international V name. It’s head and shoulders above the other suggestions in terms of fitting into a lot of different language contexts, including English and Russian.
