I love this question, [name_f]Ella[/name_f]!

To me, most if not all names have distinct personality.

I’ve used girls’ names in my examples, because it’s easier :)!

Child one has a sanguine temperament type. Best: Energetic, upbeat names like [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] {&} lighthearted, playful names like [name_u]Piper[/name_u].

Child two has a phlegmatic temperament type. Best: Discreet, ladylike names like [name_f]Grace[/name_f] {&} elaborate, feminine names like [name_f]Priscilla[/name_f].

Child three has a choleric temperament type. Best: Plain, sensible names like [name_f]Anne[/name_f] {&} athletic, boyish names like [name_u]Rory[/name_u].

Child four has a melancholic temperament type. Best: [name_m]Rich[/name_m], regal names like [name_f]Isadora[/name_f] {&} dark, dramatic names like [name_f]Persephone[/name_f].

Hey WOW [name_f]Apollonia[/name_f]! That is so interesting-I got the idea from a book called the child whisperer. I find it really intriguing. In the book it is classified at Type 1, Type 2, Type 3, Type 4. And I guess I started getting imagery in my own head with names…(Being name obsessed). But yes they are soooo similar it is crazy.
[name_f]My[/name_f] picks for girls…I will add boys if anyone else decided to join me!
Child one-I also thought of [name_f]Felicity[/name_f]! (Spunky names came to mind-or like [name_f]Lola[/name_f])
Child two-[name_f]Fern[/name_f] (Nature names came to mind)
Child three-[name_u]Hadley[/name_u] (Unisex names)
Child four-[name_f]Imogen[/name_f] (I would agree with you regal names or vintage names).
Funnily enough my daugher’s name I think could fit in to 1 or 4 as it is spunky but also vintage. [name_f]Cheerful[/name_f] but calm…

Studying Hippocrates’ four temperaments is fascinating, [name_f]Ella[/name_f]!

I’ve not yet read “The Child Whisperer,” but I daresay personality inventories everywhere correspond, no matter how the four categories of temperament types are labeled.

[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] is a great name.

To me, she’s child one – a sanguine temperament type :).
