My husband and I had such a hard time naming our first son. He’s [name_m]Caleb[/name_m]. The other name we have agreed for years that we liked was [name_m]Jacob[/name_m].
Are they too similar sounding with the “b” ending?? We would not do nicknames or Short names for either one.

I didn’t think they were similar at all, I think they are just fine together and I love [name_m]Jacob[/name_m] - and varieties.
I don’t think they’re objectively too close, I don’t think I would use them together, but I think they’re different enough that you absolutely can.
I think unless you pronounce them phonetically ([name_u]Kay[/name_u]-lehb and [name_u]Jay[/name_u]-kawb) then they sound really similar. I personally wouldn’t use names so similar but I don’t think you’d have much trouble if you did.
