I’m 34 weeks with our second child and we won’t be finding out the sex until he/she is born. We haven’t discussed names until now and we’ve reached a dead end. We have specific wants for a name and besides that we can’t seem to settle on the name. My DH is [name_m]Brian[/name_m] and I am [name_f]Brittney[/name_f] so we have decided to turn that coincidence into a theme for our family.*
Our DD is [name_f]Bryleigh[/name_f] [name_f]Amanda[/name_f] (and our dog is [name_m]Brody[/name_m] )
I’d appreciate feedback and opinions on our list and any suggestions you may have! Middle name will be [name_u]Michael[/name_u] for a boy.
*I know some people think this is incredibly corny and dumb but we like it, so please don’t tell us why you think it’s a bad idea.
[name_m]Bryson[/name_m]
[name_u]Brayden[/name_u]
[name_m]Brandon[/name_m]
[name_m]Brent[/name_m]
[name_m]Briggs[/name_m]
[name_m]Brantley[/name_m]
[name_m]Brooks[/name_m] (only issue is that we love the name [name_u]Brooklyn[/name_u] for a girl and don’t want to give up that option for the future)
I like [name_m]Bryson[/name_m] or [name_m]Briggs[/name_m] best of your options although [name_m]Brooks[/name_m] truely is my favorite. I’ll also suggest…
[name_f]Bryleigh[/name_f], ([name_u]Brooklyn[/name_u]), and
I like the suggestion of [name_m]Braxton[/name_m]. Very modern like [name_f]Bryleigh[/name_f].
[name_u]Bristol[/name_u]?
[name_m]Breccan[/name_m]
[name_m]Broderick[/name_m]
[name_u]Bryce[/name_u]. Or… [name_u]Brice[/name_u]?
[name_u]Bradley[/name_u]
[name_u]Brennan[/name_u]
Breckyn is my sons name and if you had a [name_u]Brooklyn[/name_u] in the future it’d be super cute that they were both Br and yn! We’ve though about it ourselves if we had a girl
I really love the suggestions of [name_m]Braxton[/name_m] and [name_u]Bradley[/name_u]. I haven’t thought about the name [name_u]Bradley[/name_u] in a long time and I really do love it. I don’t love [name_m]Brad[/name_m], but I can live with it.
Have you ever considered just using a B name, rather than Br? It would give you more options and you could still use [name_u]Brooklyn[/name_u] for a girl in the future! Perhaps:
My little brother’s name is [name_u]Bradley[/name_u] and I love it. He is 17 and he goes by [name_u]Bradley[/name_u] a lot more often than [name_m]Brad[/name_m], honestly. He just introduces himself as [name_u]Bradley[/name_u] so most people follow his lead, although he doesn’t mind [name_m]Brad[/name_m] at all. [name_m]Just[/name_m] something I’ve noticed. There’s also the actor [name_u]Bradley[/name_u] [name_m]Cooper[/name_m] who never goes by [name_m]Brad[/name_m]. If you really prefer to have a nickname you like, you could always use [name_u]Lee[/name_u] (from [name_m]Brad[/name_m]-LEY). And when he was little, we affectionately called him “B-[name_m]Rad[/name_m]” (he especially loved it when he was on his little league teams - now I think he’d be a tad embarrassed if we shouted that out at a sports game, though!)
My favourites on your list are [name_m]Briggs[/name_m] and [name_m]Brooks[/name_m]. Having everyone’s name begin with Br will be fine but I would try to avoid a name beginning with the Br Y/I sound as it could get to be tongue twister-like alongside [name_m]Brian[/name_m] and [name_f]Bryleigh[/name_f].
Since you already have [name_m]Brian[/name_m] and [name_f]Bryleigh[/name_f]/[name_f]Brittany[/name_f] and [name_f]Bryleigh[/name_f] I would move away from the I and EE sounds. I like [name_m]Brent[/name_m], [name_m]Brooks[/name_m], [name_m]Braxton[/name_m], or [name_m]Breccan[/name_m] for you.
[name_f]Briar[/name_f]? And I don’t think it is weird at all! I know a family and they are [name_u]Andrea/name_u, [name_m]Anson/name_m, [name_f]Anna/name_f, [name_m]Andrew/name_m, and [name_m]Anthony/name_m
I’d like to throw out one of my favorite boy names: Bromwell, nn [name_m]Brom[/name_m]. It sounds sophisticated but accessible, and it has literary cred ([name_m]Brom[/name_m] Bones is one of the main characters in the [name_u]Legend[/name_u] of Sleepy Hollow).
I really like [name_m]Bryson[/name_m] as [name_m]Bill[/name_m] [name_m]Bryson[/name_m] is one of my favorite writers. Other Br-names (apologies for repeats):
