Brenn?

Yes? No? First impressions?

I like it, I was surprised when I just looked it up on here and NB highlights it as feminine, it definitely seems masculine to me.

I do think that it will be miss-heard as [name_m]Ben[/name_m] though.

I prefer it as a nickname to [name_u]Brennan[/name_u] but it’s nice!

I know, right? I found it on several other websites and it was definitely labeled as male; short for [name_u]Brennan[/name_u] / [name_m]Brendan[/name_m]. I guess all boy names are labeled as girl names these days

I loved “[name_f]Brenn[/name_f]” from the second I found it, but my husband isn’t quite convinced. Since it doesn’t seem very common (yet short and easy, and impossible to mispronounce), I was curious to read what other people’s first reaction would be, and if maybe I was weird for liking it lol

I like it but it goes against my general distaste for Br names! They’re harsh sounding to me.

That’s funny! I thought it was a much softer alternative to the harsher sounding “[name_m]Trent[/name_m]” Haha!

I love it and I have a friend who named her son [name_f]Brenn[/name_f]. I would go straight to [name_f]Brenn[/name_f] rather than giving him a longer name and using it as a nickname.

[name_u]Bryn[/name_u] is a masculine Welsh name. I like [name_f]Brenn[/name_f] as a nickname for [name_u]Brennan[/name_u] or other “[name_f]Bren[/name_f]” names.

I agree with this. Have you ever thought about [name_u]Bran[/name_u] ~ Meaning, origin and history of the name Bran (1) - Behind the Name or [name_m]Bram[/name_m] ~ Meaning, origin and history of the name Bram - Behind the Name.
