[name]Hi[/name] fellow Berries! [name]Brennan[/name] has been one of my favorite, nmore guilty pleasure, names for a really long time. I just love the sound of it on a girl, and the name itself holds a lot of meaning to me. I was just wondering if you think that [name]Brennan[/name] could work for a girl? Personally, I think it has a softer tone than a lot of the masculine names that you commonly see on girls, I have never really seen this name as really masculine to begin with. Is it that much different than [name]Addison[/name], [name]Hayden[/name], [name]Emerson[/name], [name]Ryan[/name], [name]Elliot[/name], or [name]Blake[/name] which are commonly used on girls? Thoughts/Comments? Please don’t be too harsh
Thank You!
~[name]Lauren[/name]
I’m not sure why, I’m having trouble putting it into words, but I do actually like it. I have never heard it on a girl, but thinking about it, I think it could really work. Definitely original and unique for a little girl!
Its similarity to [name]Brianne[/name]/[name]Brianna[/name] makes it possible, but many berries object to boy names on girls. I agree that it definitely sounds more feminine than [name]Ryan[/name], [name]Blake[/name] or [name]Hayden[/name].
As a feminine name, it updates [name]Brenda[/name] a bit, doesn’t it?
So that people didn’t mistake her for a boy, I’d give a [name]Brennan[/name] a highly feminine middle name. Such as:
[name]Brennan[/name] [name]Arabella[/name],
[name]Brennan[/name] [name]Isabelle[/name],
[name]Brennan[/name] [name]Seraphina[/name],
[name]Brennan[/name] [name]Magdalena[/name],
[name]Brennan[/name] [name]Evangeline[/name],
[name]Brennan[/name] [name]Ava[/name],
[name]Brennan[/name] [name]Theodora[/name],
[name]Brennan[/name] [name]Marilyn[/name],
and so on.
What about [name]Brynn[/name]? Similar sound, but that is the clearly feminine spelling of [name]Bryn[/name].
I like it. I like [name]Brenna[/name] too
I’m usually not a fan of the unisex/male names for girls, but I agree that [name]Brennan[/name] could work. It definitely sounds more feminine than the more typical ones. And I also agree an ultra feminine middle name is the way to go.
I really like [name]Brennan[/name] [name]Marie[/name], for example.
I think it could definitely work on a girl. The last Pottery [name]Barn[/name] Kids catalogue I received had very frilly bedding embroidered with the name [name]Brannan[/name]. Very similar.
My best friend is pregnant, and if it’s a girl, she’s naming it Brynnan [name]Olivia[/name]. I love it.
[name]Brennan[/name] is a family name of mine that I have considered for an eventual little girl. I say go for it. Like previous posters, I would pair it with a frillier middle name.
I prefer the sound for a boy, but have no issue with it on a girl. I very nice and quirky girl in my daycare groups name is [name]Brennan[/name] I say go for it!
[name]Love[/name] it for a girl. Although I do associate it with Bones (TV show).
Oooh, now I like it more! Haha
Normally I hate boys names like [name]Addison[/name], [name]Avery[/name], [name]Blake[/name] and [name]Elliott[/name] being used on a girl but I think [name]Brennan[/name] could work. It has a feminine and melodic quality that could definitely make it work. I would not use it for my own daughter but if you love it then I say go for it.
Wow thanks for all of the awesome responses! I was really prepared to be picked apart for liking this name, I have asked this question before on other name cites, and I always got back really negative responses. So thanks again I feel a lot better about possibly using [name]Brennan[/name] in the future! I defiantly agree with giving [name]Brennan[/name] a really feminine middle name. I really like [name]Brennan[/name] [name]Amelia[/name] and [name]Brennan[/name] [name]Grace[/name], any other suggestions?
So this is random - I actually met a young girl at the park yesterday with this name. Her sisters were [name]Cameron[/name] and [name]Morgan[/name]. I like [name]Brennan[/name] the best. It’s a nice name but does scream masculine to me.
I’m generally one of those “hates boys names on a girl” types, but I think [name]Brennan[/name] could work. Mostly because it’s fairly unusual, I’ve never known of or met a person named [name]Brennan[/name]. I have a theory that less common names cross the gender gap more successfully than really commonplace names. If you like it, go for it.
The feminine middle name is a good idea too.
[name]One[/name] of the very few unisex names that I actually like. [name]Brennan[/name] actually seems more feminine to me, so I would say use it!
It’s an adorable name. However, if you do want something a tad more feminine, [name]Brenna[/name] is a perfectly usable option!
I agree with the PP that said to give [name]Brennan[/name] a very feminine middle name. My suggestions:
[name]Brennan[/name] [name]Annalise[/name]
[name]Brennan[/name] [name]Madeline[/name]
[name]Brennan[/name] [name]Adelaide[/name]
[name]Brennan[/name] [name]Emmeline[/name]
[name]Brennan[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name]
[name]Brennan[/name] [name]Isabella[/name]/[name]Isabelle[/name]
[name]Brennan[/name] [name]Rosemarie[/name]
[name]Brennan[/name] [name]Lilliana[/name]
[name]Hope[/name] this was helpful!
It could work. I know girls named [name]Jordan[/name], [name]Casey[/name], Brandyce, [name]Michael[/name], to name a few. I prefer [name]Brayden[/name] on girl.
I like [name]Brennan[/name] on a boy or a girl. For a girl, it reminds me of Rhiannan. Cute. I also love the the idea of Brynnan as a PP wrote. It has the same feel as [name]Brennan[/name], but with a more feminine sound.
Its an Irish surname, to me. That said I’d prefer it on a boy to a girl.
I’m going to be the oddball here and say I hate it, sorry. It’s one of my favorite boy names and I think it sounds masculine. Then again I [name]DO[/name] NOT understand most boy names on girls so… take it how you will. [name]Just[/name] know that she will be constantly confused for a boy throughout most of her life. Maybe not a huge deal but I think I’d get annoyed with it if I had a masculine name. shrug
