Bridget?

Lately I’ve been really considering [name]Bridget[/name] for a future daughter (currently TTC)…

What are your opinions on this name??? Potential ways to make fun of this name???

What NN’s could be used for [name]Bridget[/name]???

Thanks Berries!!!

I love [name]Bridget[/name]! If I had a [name]Bridget[/name] and wanted a nickname, I’d use [name]Jet[/name].

I once knew a [name]Brigid[/name] who was called Frigid [name]Brigid[/name], but I don’t think a [name]Bridget[/name] would experience the same.

[name]Bree[/name] seems to be the most popular nickname for [name]Bridget[/name] that I have seen, I’m sure there are more though.

I’ve always liked [name]Bridget[/name], with a soft spot for [name]Bridgette[/name]. [name]Bridget[/name] and [name]Josef[/name] make a cute sibset, and I can’t think of any lifelong damaging ways to make fun of a [name]Bridget[/name]! It’s a good classic name!

I like [name]Bridget[/name]! Its cute and fun with Irish charm. I cannot think of a way to really make fun of it and I think it goes great with [name]Josef[/name]

I love [name]Bridget[/name], it is so cute. If I were to use a nn for it I would go with simple [name]Bee[/name], as in Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.

I like [name]Bridget[/name], but don’t love it… I can’t really think of any teasing potential and it is a refreshing choice… I just can’t manage to love it like I do other -et names for girls ([name]Violet[/name], [name]Charlotte[/name], [name]Juliet[/name], [name]Lisette[/name], [name]Ayelet[/name], Adalet, etc.).

However, I do adore the nn [name]Bridie[/name]!

Good luck!

I like it; I toyed with it for a while on my list, decided I preferred [name]Ingrid[/name] though, as it is a little softer (also [name]Astrid[/name]).

nns: I like the suggestion of [name]Jet[/name], I think you’d have to wait & see if it suited though, otherwise [name]Bridge[/name], [name]Bree[/name], [name]Bee[/name], [name]Gigi[/name]. I could see other ‘pet’ names like Gidgie evolving too, if your family is that way inclined.

[name]London[/name] [name]Bridget[/name] is falling down? Lol best i can do on the teasing front.
i looove [name]Bridget[/name].

I like [name]Bridget[/name] [name]Blain[/name]…

I love [name]Bridget[/name], too!

I, for one, would not even use a nn as I just love the sound of [name]Bridget[/name] itself:-) and I am just not a nickname person anyway…

[name]Bridget[/name] [name]Anabel[/name]
[name]Bridget[/name] [name]Amelie[/name]
[name]Bridget[/name] [name]Caroline[/name]
[name]Bridget[/name] [name]Noelle[/name]
[name]Bridget[/name] [name]Elle[/name]

I love [name]Bridget[/name]! Such a gorgeous name!

[name]Bridget[/name] [name]Amelia[/name]*
[name]Bridget[/name] [name]Claire[/name]
[name]Bridget[/name] [name]May[/name]
[name]Bridget[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]*
[name]Bridget[/name] [name]Elle[/name]*
[name]Bridget[/name] [name]Grace[/name]
[name]Bridget[/name] [name]Belle[/name]
[name]Bridget[/name] [name]Blaire[/name]*
[name]Bridget[/name] [name]Evangeline[/name]
[name]Bridget[/name] [name]Christine[/name]*
[name]Bridget[/name] [name]Adele[/name]*

The starred ones are my favorite!

I disagree…I think it sounds kind of dated not classic…sorry to be a downer

My little cousin is named [name]Bridget[/name]. We’ll call her [name]Bridgie[/name] and [name]Bridge[/name] occasionally, but she’s mostly [name]Bridget[/name].
She has a twin named [name]William[/name] and two older sisters named [name]Gwynneth[/name] and [name]Gillian[/name].

My mother hates the name because it makes her think of [name]Gidget[/name], Midget etc.

I think it’s not bad, I don’t know if I’d ever use it, but it’s not bad. I like the nn of [name]Bri[/name]/RiRi for it.

I know a girl named [name]Bridget[/name] [name]Ceridwen[/name] [name]Ariadne[/name].

I love it and I love [name]Bridie[/name] for a nn…

I really like this name, but find it hard to come up with a combo I like. Previous posters have given me some ideas though for combos. (thanks!) I like how it sounds like a happy medium between friendly and strong.

Really cute. I knew a little [name]Bridget[/name] called [name]Bridey[/name]…adorable.

I really like this name. It rhymes with midget and so there is definite teasing potential there. My husband suggested this as a possible first name for our 4th daughter, and this is the main reason we decided not to use the name. So far all of our kids have been petite (like I am). I was called “midget” in school and my name doesn’t even rhyme with it.

@namelover7 & momberry…

Thanks for the MN sugggestion… but for me the middle is for family names! Everyone in my family has middle names that are off the family tree…

Mn would probably be [name]Marie[/name] or [name]Katherine[/name] or both!
