[name]Bree[/name] seems to be the most popular nickname for [name]Bridget[/name] that I have seen, I’m sure there are more though.
I’ve always liked [name]Bridget[/name], with a soft spot for [name]Bridgette[/name]. [name]Bridget[/name] and [name]Josef[/name] make a cute sibset, and I can’t think of any lifelong damaging ways to make fun of a [name]Bridget[/name]! It’s a good classic name!
I like [name]Bridget[/name]! Its cute and fun with Irish charm. I cannot think of a way to really make fun of it and I think it goes great with [name]Josef[/name]
I love [name]Bridget[/name], it is so cute. If I were to use a nn for it I would go with simple [name]Bee[/name], as in Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.
I like [name]Bridget[/name], but don’t love it… I can’t really think of any teasing potential and it is a refreshing choice… I just can’t manage to love it like I do other -et names for girls ([name]Violet[/name], [name]Charlotte[/name], [name]Juliet[/name], [name]Lisette[/name], [name]Ayelet[/name], Adalet, etc.).
I like it; I toyed with it for a while on my list, decided I preferred [name]Ingrid[/name] though, as it is a little softer (also [name]Astrid[/name]).
nns: I like the suggestion of [name]Jet[/name], I think you’d have to wait & see if it suited though, otherwise [name]Bridge[/name], [name]Bree[/name], [name]Bee[/name], [name]Gigi[/name]. I could see other ‘pet’ names like Gidgie evolving too, if your family is that way inclined.
My little cousin is named [name]Bridget[/name]. We’ll call her [name]Bridgie[/name] and [name]Bridge[/name] occasionally, but she’s mostly [name]Bridget[/name].
She has a twin named [name]William[/name] and two older sisters named [name]Gwynneth[/name] and [name]Gillian[/name].
I really like this name, but find it hard to come up with a combo I like. Previous posters have given me some ideas though for combos. (thanks!) I like how it sounds like a happy medium between friendly and strong.
I really like this name. It rhymes with midget and so there is definite teasing potential there. My husband suggested this as a possible first name for our 4th daughter, and this is the main reason we decided not to use the name. So far all of our kids have been petite (like I am). I was called “midget” in school and my name doesn’t even rhyme with it.
