Briggs as Nickname

We’re thinking of naming our son after my husband, but struggling to come up with a name that could be the kiddo’s go-by. My husband goes by his first name, which doesn’t have any good nickname options; the middle name would be Bridwell (family name). I’m not a huge fan of initials.

Realizing it’s a somewhat polarizing choice, we love the name [name_m]Briggs[/name_m] and are wondering if it makes sense as a NN for Bridwell. Thoughts? Too much of a reach?

[name_m]Briggs[/name_m] isn’t an instinctive nn for Bridwell, but it makes sense to me.
If you like it, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with it.

[name_m]Briggs[/name_m] is a strong, masculine and handsome name that I love. Nicknames don’t have to be intuitive and this isn’t so I would consider using three names, [name_m]Briggs[/name_m] being one of them, if that appeals?
