Bright and beach-y names! ☀

Hello berries! I hope your day is going lovely!

I have a bit of a strange habit of obsessing over random television shows, movies, or books and then making baby name lists based on the aesthetics of that show, and my recent obsession is Bondi Rescue. Essentially, the show is about the lifeguards on Australia’s Bondi Beach and their daily routine and rescues there. Of course, this means I’ve become very interested in creating a bright and beach-y name list, and I figured some of you might be able to help!

I’ve looked through Australia’s top 100 names, as well as my own lists, and I’ve found a nice amount of names I like, but I’d love to expand the list a little more with the help of the berries!

Almost all of the names I’ve added to the list are quite common and recognizable, but they still feel fresh and somewhat unexpected. I’d say they are also easy to pronounce and feel very accessible. They’ve got a distinct playfulness and beach-y feel to them, but most aren’t very notably “boho” or “crunchy” (not that either of those things are bad). I feel like I’ve really curated a nice list for the boys that captures the aesthetic well, but I definitely think my girls need a lot more work! The boys especially seem to fit that sun, sea, and surf vibe that I’m really looking for!

Coming from an Australian who lives in a beachside city, your boy list evokes a lot of the same feelings for me. Your girl list less so. Frankie, Poppy and Birdie are the only ones giving me those vibes.
