Brigitte or Yvette?

Which do you prefer: [name_f]Brigitte[/name_f] or [name_f]Yvette[/name_f]?

Possible middle names are [name_f]Anneliese[/name_f], [name_f]Ariadne[/name_f], [name_f]Emeline[/name_f], [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f], and [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f].

I prefer the sleek, unexpected [name_f]Yvette[/name_f]. [name_f]Yvette[/name_f] [name_f]Ariadne[/name_f] would be nice

I like both, but prefer [name_f]Yvette[/name_f]! Of your middle names, [name_f]Yvette[/name_f] [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f] would be my favorite.

I prefer [name_f]Yvette[/name_f] over [name_f]Brigitte[/name_f], mainly because it’s not very popular from where I am. [name_f]Yvette[/name_f] [name_f]Emeline[/name_f] and [name_f]Yvette[/name_f] [name_f]Adriane[/name_f] are super cute!

I’d choose [name_f]Yvette[/name_f], solely because [name_f]Brigitte[/name_f] could be pronounced brih-gee-tuh, [name_u]Brit[/name_u]-zjeete, or the the same as [name_f]Bridget[/name_f]. [name_f]Yvette[/name_f] has a less variable pronunciation.

I thought the pronunciation bree-ZHEET was more implicit, and that one is what I was thinking.

Yvette.

Yvette! [name_u]Love[/name_u] it

I really like both, but slightly prefer [name_f]Yvette[/name_f]. I think pronunciation ambiguity might be an issue with [name_f]Brigitte[/name_f], depending on where you live and how familiar people are with [name_u]French[/name_u] names (I’ve heard people pronounce [name_f]Brigitte[/name_f] [name_f]Bardot[/name_f]’s name as “[name_f]Bridget[/name_f]”, for example).

Where do you live?

Yvette [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f] is very sweet

Both are lovely. I dont think [name_f]Brigitte[/name_f] is as popular as it used to be, so I wouldn’t worry about popularity.

I’m going to vote [name_f]Yvette[/name_f] [name_f]Anneliese[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Esty[/name_f]).

When I go through the alphabet and pick my favourite name for every letter (which I do for fun WAY too much :joy:), I always end up picking [name_f]Yvette[/name_f] for Y! It’s unexpected yet still familiar, and it’s very elegant and pretty!

Brigitte is also lovely, but like others have said, I never know which pronunciation people are using! But I guess that’ll depend on where you live - I’ve personally never met someone called [name_f]Brigitte[/name_f]. I also think [name_f]Yvette[/name_f] goes best with all the middle names you’ve chosen - [name_f]Yvette[/name_f] [name_f]Anneliese[/name_f] is beautiful!

I prefer the [name_f]Evette[/name_f] spelling to the [name_f]Yvette[/name_f], the Y has always bothered me but I definitely like this name over [name_f]Brigitte[/name_f], although [name_f]Bridie[/name_f] is a super cute nickname for [name_f]Bridgette[/name_f].

But if you like the Y over the E,

Yvette [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] or [name_f]Yvette[/name_f] [name_f]Emeline[/name_f] are so cute!

I prefer [name_f]Yvette[/name_f]. [name_f]Yvette[/name_f] [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] would be very pretty!
