I have been loving British girl names lately. I have always loved the name [name]Eleanor[/name], but I always thought people may think it’s too old fashioned even with the cute nickname [name]El[/name]. I would love some suggestions and your thoughts on [name]Eleanor[/name]. I have a baby girl due in less than two week, so all help is greaty appreciated!

[name]Eleanor[/name] doesn’t seem old-fashioned to me. In fact it’s #135 on the SSA list, so I’m thinking a lot of people would consider maybe it not modern, but relevent! It’s a gorgeous, classic name.

I love it. I think it’s just beautiful, and has a lot of possibility–an [name]Eleanor[/name] could be anything, from a professional soccer player to a history teacher to a naturopathic physician to a journalist to a detective to a chef. It’s one of my all-time favorites.
I think it’s a classic, and as for being old fashioned - those kinds of names are becoming popular again, so I wouldn’t worry.
