I did something simular for girls (on [name_f]Stevie[/name_f] and Scottie), but these are the ones that I feel like I see on every other baby announcement for boys.
I’d call them sort of smart-casual names: outdoorsy meets preppy, surname-style blends with nature, sleek and smart meets wordsy and earthy.
So that led me to think: what next?
I think I’d put [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] / [name_m]Shep[/name_m], [name_m]August[/name_m], [name_m]Boone[/name_m], [name_f]Rowe[/name_f], [name_m]Jones[/name_m], [name_m]Hayes[/name_m], [name_m]Rivers[/name_m], and [name_m]Ford[/name_m] fit here but I’d love to know what you think!
What alternatives would you recommend or suggest as alternarives to [name_m]Banks[/name_m] and [name_m]Brooks[/name_m]?
Hello! For me, these are the names that feel completely American (from the perspective of a European whose image of the US for many years was shaped by [name_f]Disney[/name_f] high school films and that kind of style).
[name_m]Other[/name_m] names I would add to that list:
[name_m]Wade[/name_m]
[name_m]Walker[/name_m]
[name_m]Sawyer[/name_m]
[name_m]Foster[/name_m]
[name_m]Thatcher[/name_m]
[name_m]Porter[/name_m]
[name_m]Ryder[/name_m]
[name_m]Miller[/name_m]
[name_m]Parker[/name_m]
[name_m]Cooper[/name_m]
[name_m]Turner[/name_m]
[name_m]Tucker[/name_m]
[name_m]Carter[/name_m]
[name_m]Spencer[/name_m]
[name_m]Tyler[/name_m]
(generally names ending in -er)
[name_m]Wells[/name_m]
[name_m]Wyatt[/name_m]
[name_m]Chase[/name_m]
[name_m]Crew[/name_m]
[name_m]Dane[/name_m]
[name_m]Holt[/name_m]
[name_m]Beckett[/name_m]
[name_m]Bennett[/name_m]
Reed/Reid
[name_m]Rhys[/name_m]
[name_m]Grant[/name_m]
[name_m]Sloan[/name_m]
[name_m]Baxter[/name_m]
[name_m]Kyle[/name_m]
[name_m]Briggs[/name_m]
[name_m]Beck[/name_m]
[name_m]Stone[/name_m]
[name_m]Hudson[/name_m]
[name_m]Harrison[/name_m]
[name_m]Mason[/name_m]
[name_m]Dawson[/name_m]
[name_m]Lawson[/name_m]
[name_m]Grayson[/name_m]
(-son names also tend to fit this description for me)
My thoughts go to the shared sound rather than the style – there are just so many names that fit the blended surname/nature category as many surnames are geographical.
[name_m]The[/name_m] ‘tt’ and ‘t’ ending sound is pretty popular right now (Wyatt, [name_m]Bennett[/name_m], [name_m]Everett[/name_m], [name_m]Emmett[/name_m], [name_m]Elliott[/name_m], [name_m]Jett[/name_m], [name_m]Beckett[/name_m], [name_m]Rhett[/name_m], [name_m]Barrett[/name_m]) so maybe some lesser used ones will catch the momentum? Such as [name_f]Merritt[/name_f], [name_m]Truett[/name_m], [name_m]Lovett[/name_m], [name_m]Whit[/name_m], [name_m]Scout[/name_m], [name_m]Tobit[/name_m].
Also names with the ‘row’ sound (Rowan, [name_m]Ronan[/name_m], [name_m]Roman[/name_m], [name_m]Romeo[/name_m], Rome). Perhaps moving into other vowel sounds… [name_f]Rue[/name_f], [name_m]Rook[/name_m], [name_f]Rooney[/name_f], [name_m]Roscoe[/name_m], [name_m]Rove[/name_m].
[name_m]Brooks[/name_m] , [name_m]Banks[/name_m] & [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] was my first thought !
I think other names that match the style would be
[name_m]Monty[/name_m]
[name_m]Walker[/name_m]
[name_m]Bhodi[/name_m]
[name_m]Brody[/name_m]
[name_m]Sawyer[/name_m]
[name_m]Fisher[/name_m]
[name_m]Forrest[/name_m]
I’ve heard [name_m]Briggs[/name_m], [name_m]Wilkins[/name_m], [name_m]Watkins[/name_m], [name_f]Collins[/name_f], etc. Surnames first are popular here.
