We have a son named [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] [name_m]Jacob[/name_m] who we call Auggie. [name_m]Jacob[/name_m] is my husband’s name.
Considering [name_u]Everett[/name_u] [name_u]Ray[/name_u] for his little brother. Does [name_u]Everett[/name_u] go with Auggie and also feel like a complete enough name for a brother for [name_m]Augustus[/name_m]? [name_u]Ray[/name_u] is my grandfather’s middle name that he goes by and also my middle name ([name_u]Rae[/name_u]).
Other firsts we have considered, but don’t like as much are [name_m]Louis[/name_m], [name_m]Lucas[/name_m], [name_m]Beckett[/name_m], [name_m]Jonah[/name_m], [name_m]Alexander[/name_m], [name_m]Frederick[/name_m], [name_m]Waylon[/name_m], [name_m]Dalton[/name_m].
Other middles that we might use are [name_u]Lawrence[/name_u], [name_m]Philip[/name_m], [name_u]Abbott[/name_u], [name_m]Collin[/name_m], [name_m]Ernest[/name_m].
Last name is three syllables McD…
Thanks for your thoughts!
I love your son’s name! [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] is gorgeous. We are considering [name_u]August/name_u nn Auggie.
I also love [name_u]Everett[/name_u] [name_u]Ray[/name_u] and I think it goes perfectly with [name_m]Augustus[/name_m]. [name_m]Louis[/name_m], [name_m]Lucas[/name_m], [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] are just too common and definitely not as strong as [name_m]Augustus[/name_m]. [name_m]Waylon[/name_m] and [name_m]Dalton[/name_m] sound like new names and [name_m]Dalton[/name_m] makes me think of the [name_m]Dalton[/name_m] Brothers. I like [name_m]Beckett[/name_m] and [name_m]Jonah[/name_m], but still think [name_u]Everett[/name_u] fits better. [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] seems outdated to me but it is a strong and long name that goes well with [name_m]Augustus[/name_m].
I would say [name_u]Everett[/name_u] [name_u]Ray[/name_u], maybe [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] [name_u]Abbott[/name_u] or [name_m]Jonah[/name_m] [name_m]Collin[/name_m].
What do you think of Florestan, [name_m]Octavian[/name_m], [name_m]Alfred[/name_m], [name_m]Ezechiel[/name_m], [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m], [name_m]Griffin[/name_m], [name_m]Thaddeus[/name_m], [name_m]Ferdinand[/name_m], [name_m]Ulysses[/name_m], [name_m]Phineas[/name_m], [name_u]Rowan[/name_u], [name_m]Hezekiah[/name_m], [name_m]Zacharias[/name_m], [name_m]Ebenezer[/name_m]?
[name_u]Everett[/name_u] [name_u]Ray[/name_u] works well as a brother for [name_m]Augustus[/name_m]. I like that [name_u]Ray[/name_u] honours both your grandfather and you, making it a meaningful middle for your new little guy. Choose what you love the most and I think you have found the winner!
[name_m]Augustus[/name_m] [name_m]Jacob[/name_m] is a great name and I love [name_u]Everett[/name_u] [name_u]Ray[/name_u] - it feels perfectly substantial and is in general a great combo!

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.
Auggie is adorable. I think that [name_u]Everett[/name_u] & Auggie are nice enough for brothers. It’s not what I’d pick first, but go for it if it’s the only name you love. [name_u]Everett[/name_u] is a handsome name.
