eeek I just found out that we are having another boy. my first born is named [name]Bram[/name] [name]Alexander[/name] and I couldn’t be happier with his name. the name [name]Bram[/name] had real significance for my husband and I. we met and were married in Romania and the book Dracula (written by [name]Bram[/name] Stoker) is in a round-about way based on a former Romanian dictator. I love that [name]Bram[/name] is the only [name]Bram[/name] I know and I would like our second boy to be the same way. however, it was such a struggle us to agree on [name]Bram[/name] and boys’ names are a particular point of contention for us.
I love the one-syllable route, but am open to more. I like names that are not overly popular, masculine-sounding, European (my husband is Romanian), and cannot have the “TH” sound in it. Some names that I like are:
[name]Sebastian[/name] ([name]Bastian[/name]/Sebi) - (a very common Romanian boy’s name, so husband is opposed)
[name]Gage[/name] (I would never use it though … to popular, but I love the feel of it)
[name]Rhett[/name]
[name]Julian[/name] (though my husband’s name is Iulian, so this probably to close for comfort)
[name]Valentin[/name] ([name]Vali[/name]) - (husband’s father’s name)
Clearly, we are all over the map. Would love/appreciate any suggestions!!!
My son’s name is [name]Bram[/name] (well [name]Abram[/name] but we call him [name]Bram[/name] all the time). His older brother is [name]Oliver[/name]. I think [name]Ollie[/name] & [name]Bram[/name] are dashing together
I really like [name]Rhett[/name] and [name]Sebastian[/name]. Either would go great with big brother [name]Bram[/name]. (I love the name [name]Bram[/name] by the way!)
Here are some other names I like that would go nice with [name]Bram[/name]
I absolutely adore [name]Bram[/name]! [name]One[/name] of my favorites for a boy.
I think that my favorite for you from your list is [name]Valentin[/name], but I like everything else as well, with the exception of [name]Gage[/name] which just doesn’t really do anything for me.
Suggestions …
[name]Vale[/name] (A one syllable take on [name]Valentin[/name].)
[name]Cyprian[/name]
[name]Lev[/name]
[name]Cass[/name] (or [name]Cassian[/name], [name]Caspian[/name], or [name]Casimir[/name])
[name]Jules[/name]
[name]Locke[/name]
[name]Sage[/name]
[name]Serge[/name]
[name]Hadrian[/name]
[name]Leon[/name]
[name]Keir[/name]
[name]Jago[/name]
Thank you for all of your suggestions! I am still very much leaning towards [name]Rhett[/name], but we’ll see. I also love the suggestion of [name]Vale[/name]. I think it would be nice to name one of my kids after a family member!
I love [name]Bram[/name]! For some reason I immediately thought of [name]Anton[/name] as a sibling name. I also think [name]Bram[/name] would pair well with -o ending names, such as [name]Ivo[/name], [name]Theo[/name], and [name]Nico[/name].
[name]LOVE[/name] [name]Bram[/name]! (And [name]Abram[/name].) Of your names I like [name]Rhett[/name] and [name]Valentin[/name]. I do like [name]Sebastian[/name], but it’s getting pretty popular where I live.
Other sugestions:
[name]Marku[/name] - Close enough to [name]Mark[/name]/[name]Marcus[/name] that it would be recognized, but not heard often
[name]Simion[/name]/[name]Simon[/name]
[name]Henric[/name] - might be too close to [name]Henry[/name]
[name]Enric[/name]
[name]Caliban[/name] - not a great conotation ([name]Shakespeare[/name]), but only literary people would really know that
[name]Alexandru[/name] - might be too close to [name]Alexander[/name]/[name]Alex[/name]
Alin
[name]Anton[/name]
Doru
Nelu
Petre
Sorin
[name]Vasile[/name]
Dragos
Nicu
[name]Abel[/name]
[name]Calin[/name]
[name]Emil[/name]
[name]Mihai[/name]
I found most of these online on a few other sites, so if I’m not correct with the sorces I apologize. And sorry for any repeats.
