[name]Hope[/name] you can help! I’m expecting a brother for my son [name]Caleb[/name], and can’t find a name that feels like the right match. The things I love about [name]Caleb[/name] are: the distinctiveness, the hard C sound, the heavy A sound, and the fact that it is two syllables. I just plain like the sound of it! I’m very open to another C name, but this is not essential. I’m also quite interested in another biblical name, but again not essential. Names I’m thinking about are:
[name]Nathan[/name] (less distinctive than [name]Caleb[/name])
[name]Nathaniel[/name] (lacking in heavy vowel sounds)
[name]Blake[/name] (too short, is there a similar sounding 2 syllable name?)
[name]Tobin[/name]
[name]Aaron[/name] (not sure about the vowel beginning)
[name]Reuben[/name]
[name]Abel[/name] (too similar)
[name]Cameron[/name]
[name]Byron[/name]
From your list, I like [name]Reuben[/name] the best with [name]Caleb[/name].
Here are a few suggestions:
[name]Calvin[/name]
[name]Mason[/name]
Abrahm
[name]Colton[/name]
[name]Bennett[/name]
[name]Emmett[/name]
[name]Blaise[/name]
[name]Collin[/name]
[name]Connor[/name]
The very first thought I had was [name]Beckett[/name]. It’s got the hard b and k sounds and it’s 2 syllables and isn’t terribly far from [name]Blake[/name]. And [name]Beck[/name] is a really cut nickname. I also like the previous posters suggestion of [name]Emmett[/name].
I love [name]Caleb[/name]! It’s my little brother’s name, and it’s so gorgeous.
I really like [name]Caleb[/name] with [name]Tobin[/name], [name]Reuben[/name] and [name]Byron[/name] - they all have the strong beginning sounds and their style is perfectly matched with [name]Caleb[/name]'s. I can especially see [name]Byron[/name] as a brother to [name]Caleb[/name]. I have a cousin called Athen [name]Byron[/name], younger brother to [name]Cayman[/name] [name]Jack[/name]. Their mum wanted to use [name]Caleb[/name] instead of [name]Cayman[/name], but it was already taken by my brother My mum also considered [name]Eli[/name] ([name]Elijah[/name]), [name]Finley[/name], [name]Isaac[/name], [name]Luca[/name], [name]Micah[/name] and [name]Silas[/name] for my brother; you might like those.
I was also just thinking, my cousin has a son named [name]Caleb[/name] who has brothers named [name]Brandon[/name] and [name]Cody[/name]. [name]Both[/name] have the hard consonant sound you like with 2 syllables.
My first thought for you was [name]Silas[/name]*. I think it’s biblical yet trendy. Similar names in my opinion are below. Please consider repeats my way of agreeing with pps! My favorites are *ed.
[name]Calvin[/name]*
[name]Levi[/name]/[name]Levy[/name]/[name]Lev[/name]/[name]Liev[/name]
[name]Sebastian[/name]

[name]Boaz[/name]
[name]Ephraim[/name]
[name]Noam[/name]
[name]Simon[/name]*
[name]Saul[/name]
[name]Samson[/name]*
[name]Tobias[/name]
[name]Micah[/name]
[name]Jasper[/name]*
[name]Elias[/name]
[name]Elijah[/name]*
[name]Elliot[/name]
[name]Matthias[/name]*
[name]Phineas[/name] nn [name]Finn[/name]*
[name]Conrad[/name]
[name]Casper[/name]
[name]Abner[/name]
[name]Jethro[/name]* (thought my cousin was crazy to use it, but it fits her sweet boy like nothing else could! Fun nn: [name]Jet[/name]!)
As the mother of a [name]Caleb[/name], I’ve given this quite a bit of thought, lol. [name]Levi[/name], [name]Simon[/name], and [name]Wyatt[/name] are three of my favorites with [name]Caleb[/name]. Also, I would take a look at [name]Jonah[/name], [name]Isaac[/name], [name]Silas[/name], and [name]Tobias[/name].
The first name that popped into my head when I read the title was [name]Cain[/name]. Granted, it’s a bit too similar to [name]Caleb[/name], but it does match most of your requirements, save the two-syllable aspect, which, I believe is what seperates these two.
[name]Caleb[/name] & [name]Cain[/name]. It’s easy on the ears.
(Plus you were considering [name]Abel[/name]… )
Another C-name with biblical reference is [name]Canaan[/name]. I’ve always loved the sound, almost used it with my last and it’s still on my list for #3. My first thoughts upon reading your post were [name]Calvin[/name] and [name]Levi[/name].
