[name_m]Hi[/name_m], I’m new to the forums! I have a 4.5 year old called [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_m]Jacob[/name_m] and I’m due in [name_f]April[/name_f] with another baby boy.
So far we’ve thought of: [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m], [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m], [name_m]Andrew[/name_m], Maxwell, [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] & [name_m]Thomas[/name_m].
thanks! [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] is my favourite right now, I really love it
I like [name_m]Samuel[/name_m], [name_m]Lucas[/name_m] and [name_m]Matthew[/name_m]. I like [name_u]James[/name_u] too but it’s my nephews name and we see him all the time so we can’t use it as a first name , maybe a middle name though.
[name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] and [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] would go nicely with [name_m]Christopher[/name_m], other suggestions would be [name_m]Daniel[/name_m] or [name_m]Edward[/name_m]. Does your [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] go by a nn at all? Because that could change how certain names might match. If he goes by [name_u]Chris[/name_u] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] nn [name_u]Alex[/name_u] or [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] nn [name_m]Ben[/name_m] might fit better, but if he goes by [name_u]Kit[/name_u] or [name_m]Topher[/name_m] something like [name_m]Edward[/name_m] nn [name_m]Ned[/name_m] or [name_m]Ted[/name_m] might be better, or if he doesn’t would something that would be less likely to be shortened be something you prefer. Or if you wanted one way (for example no nn) and it went the another perhaps (everyone calls him [name_u]Chris[/name_u]) choosing something that more likely to meet your preference might be something to look for. Obviously this isn’t nesseacry but might be helpful in finding something you want, especially considering since your taste seems to run fairly classic you have heaps of great options.
I love [name_m]Andrew[/name_m], [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] and [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m]. My dad’s name is [name_m]Andrew[/name_m], and one of his middle names is [name_m]Christopher[/name_m], while my granddad (his dad) is [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] :), so I definitely think that they all fit beautifully in the lovely classic vein. [name_m]Andrew[/name_m] would be my favourite though, followed by [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m].
I like [name_m]Timothy[/name_m], [name_m]Edward[/name_m], [name_m]Zachary[/name_m], [name_u]James[/name_u], [name_u]Evan[/name_u], [name_m]Simon[/name_m], [name_m]Thomas[/name_m], and [name_m]Julian[/name_m] I will ask my husband if any of your suggestions stand out to him too and hopefully we’ll have a few more names to think about
Our surname is [name_m]Reynolds[/name_m] and our son goes by his full name most of the time but he sometimes gets [name_u]Chris[/name_u]/[name_f]Chrissy[/name_f]
I like [name_m]Henry[/name_m] but I’ve always thought it didn’t work too well with our surname ([name_m]Reynolds[/name_m]) It feels too ‘R’ heavy, if you know what I mean?
I think that [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_m]Jacob[/name_m] and [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] would make a very classy sibset.
However, when I first read the post title, I thought of [name_u]Elliott[/name_u]. [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] would be a nice brother name as well, imo.
I like [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] but it sounds too close to my name (which is [name_f]Elle[/name_f], short for [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]), not a big deal but I’m quite fussy about those kind of things haha
[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_m]Jeremiah[/name_m]? I feel like [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] has the same slightly nostalgic feeling as [name_m]Jeremiah[/name_m]. [name_u]Remy[/name_u] is a cute nn if you don’t like [name_m]Jer[/name_m] or [name_u]Jerry[/name_u].
One of my favorite sibset combos is [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] and [name_u]August[/name_u]. I actually knew two brothers by those names (no nicknames) and it was perfect!
From your list, I adore [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] and [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m], and [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] to a degree.
Other suggestions that sound good with your surname:
[name_m]Edmund[/name_m]
[name_m]Patrick[/name_m]
[name_m]Joseph[/name_m]
[name_m]Hugh[/name_m]/[name_m]Hugo[/name_m]
[name_m]Alan[/name_m]
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m] nn [name_u]Theo[/name_u]
[name_m]Henry[/name_m] nn [name_m]Hank[/name_m]
[name_u]Jude[/name_u]
[name_m]Louis[/name_m] nn [name_m]Louie[/name_m]
thanks everyone for the great replies! My husband got home from work a while ago and we went through the names you had all suggested and we both like: [name_m]Lucas[/name_m], [name_m]Edward[/name_m], [name_m]Zachary[/name_m], [name_m]Simon[/name_m] and [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] so we’re adding them to our list! [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] is still my favourite so I might make another post asking about middle names
