[name]Hi[/name] there! This is my first post on nameberry. Here it goes…
I am looking for a name for my baby boy due in [name]September[/name]. My daughter’s name is [name]Fiona[/name] [name]Grace[/name]. I like names that are heard of but not super common (not in the top 20). A few of my favorites are:
[name]Fiona[/name] was named after my husband’s eldest sister and it is Scottish (Husband’s dad is from [name]Scotland[/name]). This boy is going to be our last child so I’m worried if we don’t name him a family name we will regret it.
I would love to hear your opinions on my names and also would love recommendations.
Great!: any of these I think would work amazingly with [name]Fiona[/name] and are wonderful names in their own right

[name]Julian[/name] (nn [name]Jude[/name]) - meh, not a name I really like, an okay mn though

[name]Don[/name]'t like:
[name]Augustus[/name] (nn [name]August[/name]) - I just don’t really like this name, and with [name]Fiona[/name] it clashes a bit [name]IMO[/name]
[name]Alfred[/name] (nn [name]Alfie[/name]) - okay, I don’t mind it, but it’s just not one I really love. What about [name]Arthur[/name]?
[name]Leonardo[/name] or [name]Leo[/name] - I like [name]Leo[/name], but I feel like a sibset of [name]Leonardo[/name] and [name]Fiona[/name] is a bit confusing. [name]Leonard[/name] I’d like a lot more.

I love your name choices! And I think [name]Thomas[/name] is due for a popularity spike. I did hesitate over [name]Alfred[/name], but [name]Alfie[/name] and [name]Fiona[/name] together are too cute for words. I’d probably go with [name]Jude[/name] [name]Thomas[/name] [name]Alfred[/name] and nickname him [name]Alfie[/name] (despite the movie).
I like all your names except [name]Dawson[/name]. It is uber trendy. I love [name]Thomas[/name] and [name]Fiona[/name] together. I don’t find [name]Thomas[/name] boring at all.
[name]Grant[/name], [name]Julian[/name] ([name]Jude[/name]), [name]Ewan[/name] and [name]Gavin[/name] are my favorites to be paired with [name]Fiona[/name] from your list.
Those are all great suggestions. Here are my thoughts:
[name]Declan[/name] - like, but I have trouble saying it. Is it dee-clan? dey-clan?
[name]Lachlan[/name] - like, but can’t get myself to love
[name]Niall[/name] - I had to look it up, which I liked, but no. It’s pronounced [name]Neil[/name], so I’d rather do use [name]Neil[/name] if I were to go that route, which I’m not.
[name]Callum[/name] - I like and it has been growing on me. I like the nn [name]Cal[/name] for it. Is it too close to [name]Colin[/name] though? We have a [name]Colin[/name] on both sides of the family that we see a few times a month.
[name]Owen[/name] - Really like
[name]Graham[/name] - [name]Love[/name], but my good friend named her son this and we see each other a couple of times a week. I think it would be weird. I know we may not be friends later, but would it hurt our current relationship?
[name]Ian[/name] - Like, but it’s baby boy’s cousin’s name. We see him a couple of times a month.
