Brother for Ivan Alfredo

Looking for a name for baby boy #2 :blue_heart:
A few considerations about the name:

  1. Has to work in [name_f]English[/name_f] and Spanish (preferably as the same name, I love [name_u]James[/name_u] but in Spanish it would be [name_m]Joaquin[/name_m]. Which has a totally different feel to me😅)
  2. Older brother is [name_m]Ivan[/name_m] [name_m]Alfredo[/name_m].
  3. Last name is 2 syllables, starts with F, ends in O.

Names husband and I both like:
[name_u]Gabriel[/name_u]
[name_m]Roman[/name_m]
[name_u]Adrian[/name_u]

Name I like but my husband doesn’t:
[name_m]Ruben[/name_m]
Laurence(I love this)
[name_m]Peter[/name_m]

[name_m]Ivan[/name_m] and [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u] are great together. I like all the names on your list but [name_m]Ivan[/name_m] and [name_u]Adrian[/name_u] feel too similar. Would your husband like [name_u]Laurence[/name_u] if he used a nickname (Ren, Laurie)? Suggesting [name_u]Lawson[/name_u] as an alternative.

I’d push for [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u] [name_u]Laurence[/name_u]. [name_m]Roman[/name_m] is a little close to [name_m]Ivan[/name_m] for me.

I love [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u] and [name_u]Laurence[/name_u] (an all-timer for me) for you!

Perhaps also [name_u]Jaime[/name_u] (HIGH-mey). It’s a Spanish form of [name_u]James[/name_u] which I’ve encountered on Latinos IRL where I live. A little more similar to [name_u]James[/name_u]!

[name_u]Tristan[/name_u]
[name_u]Paxton[/name_u]
[name_m]Leonce[/name_m]
[name_m]Edwin[/name_m]
[name_m]Malcolm[/name_m]

I do love [name_m]Ivan[/name_m] and [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u] together too. And I like [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u] [name_u]James[/name_u] or [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u] Jay(Jay is my dad’s name and [name_u]James[/name_u] was my grandfathers name)
I will ask him about the nickname…he says [name_u]Laurence[/name_u] sounds like a girl’s name from the Spanish perspective. I think because it reminds him of the name [name_u]Lauren[/name_u]. But to me I see it as a classic name that has a vintage and quite masculine feel to it. I would love the nn [name_u]Laurie[/name_u] but that may sound even more like a girl’s name to him :woman_facepalming:
It’s tough working with both languages in mind

[name_m]Iván[/name_m] is one of my favorites  Aren’t [name_m]Santiago[/name_m] and [name_u]Jaime[/name_u] variants of [name_u]James[/name_u] in Spanish? [name_m]Iván[/name_m] and [name_m]Santi[/name_m] would be so cute. I also love [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u] for you.

Some other Spanish boys names that I like:
[name_m]Mateo[/name_m]
[name_m]Raúl[/name_m]
[name_m]Diego[/name_m]
[name_m]Alejandro[/name_m]
[name_m]Martin[/name_m]
[name_m]Danilo[/name_m], nn [name_m]Nilo[/name_m]

No it wouldn’! It would be either Jaime, Diego, Thiago, Santiago or Jacobo! I do think any of these names would work as a sibling for Ivan Alfredo!
