Brother for Julian

We have a 14 month old [name]Julian[/name] [name]Richard[/name] and are trying to think of names for our next bub. A girl will be named [name]Leora[/name].

Our boys list is:
[name]Elias[/name]
[name]Arthur[/name]
[name]Alasdair[/name]

Other names I love but can’t use for different reasons:
[name]Ezra[/name]
[name]Theodore[/name]
[name]Sebastian[/name]
[name]Gabriel[/name]
[name]Hamish[/name]
[name]August[/name]
[name]Levi[/name]
[name]Lucian[/name]

Which name do you feel fits best with [name]Julian[/name] and [name]Leora[/name]? [name]Elias[/name], [name]Arthur[/name] or [name]Alasdair[/name]?
What other names would you suggest that fit with our style (romantic, poetic, strong, historical)??

Thank you!

I also wrote last night on your ‘[name]Leora[/name]’ post. I was actually thinking of suggesting [name]August[/name] as another sibling name because of the [name]July/name/[name]Leo/nameconnection. And here it is on your list. [name]Leo[/name] is the star sign for the end of [name]July[/name] and beginning of [name]August[/name], are you intentially going in this direction? Maybe you just really love lions, [name]Richard[/name] is the lion-heart afterall. Or maybe there’s no connection for you and I’m really reaching.

Thanks but no, I’m not into astrology at all. [name]Julian[/name] and [name]Leora[/name] are just names we love. [name]Leora[/name] is Hebrew for ‘God’s gift of light to me’. So although it has ‘[name]Leo[/name]’ in it, there is no connection to Lions or astrology in the meaning of the name. [name]Richard[/name] was used to honour my father. As a coincidence I do really love [name]August[/name] for a boy, but my Husband doesn’t like it. The names that we have both agreed on are [name]Leora[/name] for a girl and [name]Arthur[/name], [name]Alasdair[/name] or [name]Elias[/name] for a boy.

Hey Nouveau, remember me?

I’m sorry to hear that you can no longer use [name]Hamish[/name] or [name]August[/name]!

That said, I think that [name]Elias[/name] fits best with [name]Julian[/name] and [name]Leora[/name]. The other two names just sound too mismatched style-wise to me, although I’d pick [name]Alasdair[/name] as #2 for you.

Best of luck! :]

I like the sound of [name]Julian[/name] and [name]Alasdair[/name] together, and was all ready to recommend that one, but taken with [name]Leora[/name], [name]Elias[/name] does seem to be a better fit. I love the name [name]Arthur[/name] but it seems too different of a style to me, more vintage anglo-american than the other two.
