Thought I’d post for some input. We already have a little girl named [name]Lilia[/name] [name]Paige[/name] which we obviously love as we wanted a name which was different enough while still being quite classic and pretty. This time around we are looking for boys names and really want something that is cool, cute and ages well.
We love [name]Nico[/name] [name]Elliot[/name]. We also really like [name]Luca[/name] but have an aversion to [name]Luke[/name], so it would be a [name]Lou[/name]/[name]Louie[/name] [name]Luca[/name] but we fear it’ll go down the luke path anyway. We both love [name]Sam[/name] not [name]Samuel[/name], but we just feel its a little too common here.
We are also Australians and aussies love to shorten a named throw and o on the end to make nicknames. So someone with the last name [name]Roberts[/name] becomes Robbo or john becomes jono. So we fear nico will lose its charm without the backing of an Italian or Greek heritage to back it up. It would just be part of the robbo, jono, Nicko subculture of the Aussie bogan. Oh no, how terrible!
That being said I know the right kid could rock it and shed a whole new light on such a neat name. Anyway any thoughts would be much appreciated.
