Brother for Maxwell

[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! My wife and I have been searching for the right name for our son who is due in [name_f]September[/name_f]. When we decided on the name [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] (goes by [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] and [name_u]Max[/name_u]) for our first, it was easy decision. There weren’t really any runner ups.

Unfortunately this time around, there aren’t really any names that have jumped out. My wife doesn’t like any name to go with my last name.
Here are our only three candidates

Maybe [name_u]Alden[/name_u] as a middle name.

Please help! I love reading through these forums!!

Well I don’t know if these will fit with the last name, or if these are even your style but how about:
[name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] and …
[name_u]Finley[/name_u]/[name_m]Finnegan[/name_m] etc. nn [name_u]Finn[/name_u]

I really like [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] from your list and it fits with [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m]

Honestly I love [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] with [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] but am not entirely jazzed on [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] [name_u]Aiden[/name_u]. Is there any significance to [name_u]Aiden[/name_u]? I also like the suggestion of [name_m]Felix[/name_m]!

Some other fn possibilities:

Simple and sounds good with [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m].

[name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] &

[name_m]Eli[/name_m] ([name_m]Elijah[/name_m])
[name_u]Charlie[/name_u] ([name_m]Charles[/name_m])
[name_m]Will[/name_m] ([name_m]William[/name_m])
[name_m]Wes[/name_m] ([name_m]Wesley[/name_m]/[name_m]Weston[/name_m])
[name_m]Ben[/name_m] ([name_m]Bennett[/name_m]/[name_m]Benjamin[/name_m])

Thanks so much for all the suggestions so far… There’s no significance to [name_u]Alden[/name_u] just deemed possibly acceptable as a middle name. We’ve been through thousands of names but nothing has caused an “aha” moment…

For one person who asked, my last name is the first 4 letters of my user name followed by “man” – sorry to be privacy conscious there. But I think its hard to pick a first name that goes well. A lot of names end in an “on” or “in” sound that makes it feel repetitive.

Of those mentioned I do like these:
I like [name_m]Ben/name_m, [name_m]Wes[/name_m] ([name_m]Wesley[/name_m]), [name_m]Oscar[/name_m], [name_m]Levi[/name_m] (but she doesn’t like most biblical names at all)
We like [name_u]James[/name_u], but relative has that name. We once liked [name_u]Jude[/name_u] but it has fallen out of favor at the moment.

I like [name_u]Owen[/name_u] with [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m]. I also like the suggestion of [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] (nn [name_m]Ben[/name_m] or [name_m]Benji[/name_m]).
[name_u]Alden[/name_u] is a great middle name option, [name_f]IMO[/name_f].

Other suggestions:
[name_m]Fitzgerald[/name_m] (nn [name_m]Fitz[/name_m])
[name_m]Zachary[/name_m] (nn [name_m]Zac[/name_m])
[name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] (nn [name_u]Dash[/name_u])
[name_m]Maverick[/name_m] (nn [name_m]Rick[/name_m])
[name_m]Patrick[/name_m] (nn [name_u]Pat[/name_u])
[name_m]Archibald[/name_m] (nn [name_m]Archie[/name_m])
[name_m]Jackson[/name_m] (nn [name_m]Jack[/name_m])*
[name_m]Anthony[/name_m] (nn [name_u]Tony[/name_u])

[name_m]Vincent[/name_m] ([name_m]Vince[/name_m])

With your last name I really like [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] honestly (still loving [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] too.) I really hope something clicks for both of you. And don’t sweat it if you go into the hospital with a short list and uncertainty. Sometimes the right name doesn’t feel clear until the little one arrives.
