We are expecting our 2nd child in [name_u]November[/name_u]. We have the girl’s name [name_f]Molly[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] picked out as it honors both my hubby’s and my grandmother. Our current child’s name is [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] [name_u]Drew[/name_u]. Our last name rhymes with oust and starts with and F. We are definitely going to use the middle name [name_u]Tate[/name_u] as it honors a family member . We currently agree on [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_u]Tate[/name_u] but I worry about it being too popular.
So I guess my 2 part question is do you think [name_m]Henry[/name_m] is definitely too popular or still usable?
And then any other suggestions you may have too. We like names that can have nicknames ( my husband has gone by the short version of his name for his whole life) some other names we have considered include [name_m]Brooks[/name_m](but no nickname) [name_m]Simon[/name_m] ( I don’t love it) and [name_u]Elias[/name_u]( we know way too many [name_m]Eli[/name_m]'s)
Thanks so much for your help!!
I happen to love the name [name_m]Henry[/name_m]. I don’t mind certain super popular names if they’ve been consistently popular for hundreds of years. ” There’s a fine line, but to me names like [name_m]Henry[/name_m], [name_u]James[/name_u], [name_m]William[/name_m], etc will never go out of style so the popularity doesn’t bother me the way it does with names whose trendiness has risen and fallen more sharply. Does that make sense? - maybe not! Lol [name_m]Just[/name_m] the way this name nerd’s brain works! [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_u]Tate[/name_u] does sound like a good brother to [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] [name_u]Drew[/name_u].
Suggestions might be:
[name_m]Silas[/name_m] (nn “[name_u]Si[/name_u]”)
[name_m]Bowen[/name_m] (nn “[name_u]Bo[/name_u]”)
[name_m]Archer[/name_m] (nn “[name_m]Archie[/name_m]”)
[name_m]Oliver[/name_m] (“[name_u]Ollie[/name_u]”)
[name_m]Casper[/name_m] (“Caz”)
[name_m]Oscar[/name_m] (“[name_m]Oz[/name_m], [name_m]Ozzie[/name_m]”)
[name_m]Calvin[/name_m] (“[name_u]Cal[/name_u]”)
[name_m]Henry[/name_m] is charming, to me although it’s popular it has more character and stands out more than something like [name_m]William[/name_m] or [name_u]James[/name_u]
[name_m]Silas[/name_m] also came to mind, and I see it’s already been suggested
Instead of [name_m]Simon[/name_m]:

[name_m]Miles[/name_m] (’[name_m]Milo[/name_m]’)
[name_m]Franklin[/name_m] (’[name_u]Frankie[/name_u]’)
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m] (’[name_u]Teddy[/name_u]’ or ‘[name_u]Theo[/name_u]’)
Instead of [name_m]Brooks[/name_m]:
[name_u]Campbell[/name_u]
[name_u]Rowan[/name_u]
[name_m]Boone[/name_m]
[name_u]Owen[/name_u]
[name_u]Porter[/name_u]
[name_u]Sullivan[/name_u] (’[name_u]Sully[/name_u]’ or ‘[name_u]Van[/name_u]’)
[name_m]Bennett[/name_m]
[name_m]Wesley[/name_m]
[name_m]Callaghan[/name_m] (’[name_u]Cal[/name_u]’)
Instead of [name_u]Elias[/name_u]:
[name_u]Asa[/name_u]
[name_m]Reuben[/name_m]
[name_m]Tobias[/name_m] (’[name_u]Toby[/name_u]’)
[name_m]Zachary[/name_m]
[name_m]Abram[/name_m] (’[name_m]Bram[/name_m]’)
I really love [name_m]Henry[/name_m] & [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] together!
