Hello. I’m new here. I have 15 month old son named [name]Samuel[/name] [name]Gordon[/name]. We named him [name]Samuel[/name] because 1, I love the name 2, the biblical [name]Samuel[/name] meant a lot to me since we struggled with getting pregnant. [name]Gordon[/name] is after my husbands brother that passed away less than a year before our baby was born due to cancer.
We are expecting baby boy #2 in just 25 days and we are still undecided on a name. My top pic is [name]Benjamin[/name], but my sil [name]JUST[/name] used that for her baby boy, so it’s off the list. Other names I like are [name]Lucas[/name], [name]Isaac[/name] & [name]Joseph[/name], but dh vetoes them all. I like old fashioned but still very common names. Dh likes old fashioned names that are not as common.
Currently the only two names we both like are [name]Henry[/name] and [name]Alexander[/name]. I do feel [name]Alexander[/name] is getting way popular.
So, my question, after all that background, what would be a good brother for [name]Samuel[/name]? Our last name is [name]Kenyon[/name]. If we did go the way of [name]Henry[/name], how about some middle name suggestions to go with it?
I love [name]Henry[/name]! What about [name]Henry[/name] [name]Oliver[/name], [name]Oliver[/name] [name]David[/name], or [name]Simon[/name] [name]James[/name]?
Aw, shame he vetoed [name]Isaac[/name], it seems well-matched.
I like [name]Henry[/name] but it lacks the Biblical quality. Not sure if that’s a problem but it does give it a different feel. It is nice and classic though.
[name]Nathaniel[/name] is Biblical and means “gift of G-d” which seems appropriate. [name]Jonathan[/name] has the same meaning and I’m fond of it, and it has a different ending sound than [name]Samuel[/name] which is nice, but its maybe not idea with your last name, a lot of -an/-on sound.
If he banned [name]Joseph[/name] I might try [name]Jesse[/name] or [name]Joel[/name].
[name]Alexander[/name] is popular but nice. [name]Alastair[/name] is a Scottish variant that doesn’t even crack the top 1000 but is legit. I also like [name]Alan[/name], which is a bit of an old man name, but I think its handsome.
My first thought when I saw your post title on the front page was [name]Joseph[/name]! I love [name]Joseph[/name]!
I also like [name]Isaac[/name] & Lucus, very handsome names. [name]Henry[/name] is just ok, I like [name]Harry[/name] better. I do really like [name]Alexander[/name], but [name]Alex[/name] is also getting to be a popular nn all around boys/girls. Have you considered [name]Michael[/name], [name]Christopher[/name] or [name]James[/name]? They are very traditional.
[name]Henry[/name] is one of my favorite names! [name]Henry[/name] [name]Alexander[/name] is handsome and I also like [name]Henry[/name] [name]Benjamin[/name].
