I have a 3 year old who is called Truett, which is a family name and one we really love. We’re not expecting #2 but my husband and I are starting to talk about having another baby. Being a name nerd, I have started to think about possible names already.
I find boys names a little easier, so I’m starting here!
Some ideas we have:
[name_m]Maximus[/name_m] NN [name_u]Max[/name_u]. Is [name_u]Max[/name_u] too normal next to Truett?
[name_u]Taj[/name_u] It’s another family name, but it feels a little too close to Truett. Maybe a middle name!
[name_m]Atticus[/name_m] nn [name_u]Kit[/name_u] I really love it but it also feels a little close to Truett, or am I over thinking it? I think the double tt’s make it sounds more similar.
[name_m]Brentley[/name_m]/[name_m]Brantley[/name_m] Both a family names… I know they’re pretty trendy, but I like them. The trendy sound might be a bit of a deal breaker, though.
[name_m]Penn[/name_m] To weird? I’m also not sure if it goes with Truett that well
[name_u]Calen[/name_u] A family name… pronounced like [name_f]Caylen[/name_f]. Also sounds trendy, though.
[name_m]Lachlan[/name_m] I think it’s really cool. NN Lachie/[name_f]Lockie[/name_f] or Lach/[name_m]Lock[/name_m]
[name_u]Leland[/name_u]/[name_m]Lelan[/name_m] I like [name_m]Lelan[/name_m], it’s a family name but [name_u]Leland[/name_u] seems a little more usable…
[name_u]Quinn[/name_u] I’ve always loved [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] on a boy, but I’m not sure if it goes with Truett.
[name_m]Bodhi[/name_m] Pretty cute but I don’t know if it would age well.
And a few others that I’ve come across and liked: [name_u]Micah[/name_u], [name_m]Jasper[/name_m], [name_u]Jai[/name_u] (Jye, not [name_u]Jay[/name_u])

I think [name_m]Brantley[/name_m], [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m], [name_u]Leland[/name_u], or [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] would all go great with Truett. The fun part of Truett is that because it’s so unusual there are a few directions you could go in for his sibling’s name. [name_u]Taj[/name_u] and [name_m]Bodhi[/name_m] are really the only names on your list that would confuse me with a brother named Truett.

Thanks guys! I like a lot of these suggestions. Truett’s nickname is [name_u]True[/name_u], but most of the time he just gets called Truett. He sometimes gets called T too.
I like [name_u]Everett[/name_u], [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m], [name_u]Brennan[/name_u], [name_u]Ellis[/name_u], [name_u]Grady[/name_u], & [name_m]Ronan[/name_m]! [name_m]Will[/name_m] see if my OH likes any.
I love the name Truett! I’m so happy to hear some one use it! I think that [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] and Truett would be perfect sibling names, I like the double T thing, it connects the two brothers without having a similar starting or ending sound. I think [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] [name_u]Taj[/name_u] would be absolutely perfect for a brother for Truett.
I think [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m] and [name_m]Bodhi[/name_m] are great and fit well with Truett.
