I have a son named [name]Maximus[/name] [name]Alexander[/name] and cannot find a name I love, (despite the names listed in my signature.) Many names I kinda like, none that I love. Please tell me what you would name [name]Max[/name]'s brother.
For more insight, click on the link in my signature to my other thread. Thanks!
[name]Maximus[/name] was one of three names we were seriously considering for my son when he was born. We were debating between [name]Wolf[/name], [name]Maximus[/name] and [name]Luther[/name]. [name]Luther[/name] won. Anyway, I like a lot of the names in your signature and I think we might have similar tastes. Maybe not, but I would suggest most of the boy names in my signature!
Of the names in your signature I like [name]Damien[/name] and [name]Dante[/name] a lot with [name]Max[/name]. [name]Maximus[/name] is such a strong boys name, and both [name]Damien[/name] and [name]Dante[/name] give me kind of the same impression.
What about…
[name]Zane[/name]
[name]Jameson[/name]
[name]Damon[/name]
[name]Leonides[/name] - I like this one. [name]Maximus[/name] and [name]Leonides[/name] are two super awesome, strong boys names, and [name]Max[/name] and [name]Leo[/name] are their cute nn’s!
[name]Vaughn[/name]
[name]Thackeray[/name]
[name]Magnus[/name] - too similar to [name]Max[/name]?
[name]Lucius[/name]
[name]Julian[/name]
[name]August[/name]/[name]Augustine[/name]
It depends on how you want to go, I think. I like [name]Maximus[/name] with [name]Lucius[/name] or [name]Julius[/name], but I don’t know if that strikes you as too matchy. I also see it with other [name]Roman[/name] type names - do you like the idea of having a [name]Roman[/name] theme?
What about …
[name]Roman[/name]
[name]Alexander[/name]
[name]Felix[/name]
[name]Cyprian[/name] (one of my favorite names!)
[name]Urban[/name] (another one that I think is just awesome)
I am having a hard time deciding which direction to go. [name]Do[/name] I keep the [name]Roman[/name] style? [name]Do[/name] I just find something that I think is strong and handsome? I like many of your suggestions, but I’m just not sold on any yet. Is [name]Maximus[/name] and [name]Julius[/name] too much? [name]Do[/name] [name]Maximus[/name] and [name]Theodore[/name] go? Should I do something totally different like [name]Maximus[/name] and [name]August[/name]? We thought about [name]Leonidas[/name] (mostly to “one-up” a “friendly rival” who has a [name]Maximilian[/name] and is pregnant with a [name]Leonardo[/name],) but isn’t [name]Maximus[/name] and [name]Leonides[/name] way, way too much? I guess I’m sort of almost asking complete strangers to tell me what to do. This is stressful. Any other suggestions are very appreciated!
You don’t need to stick to [name]Roman[/name] or Latin names, but I wouldn’t go with anything modern either. Avoid names like [name]Zaden[/name] or [name]Caden[/name] and you should be fine. Also, because [name]Maximus[/name] is quite masculine and strong, I would recommend sticking with an equally masculine name for his brother. [name]Theodore[/name] is fine and so are most of the names on your signature. I like [name]Damien[/name] because it is very masculine and it frees you from the [name]Roman[/name]/Latin names. At the same time it is still ancient and has a lot of history (for example: [name]Saint[/name] [name]Damian[/name] if you are interested in [name]Saint[/name] names, or the Greek myth about [name]Damon[/name] and Pythias.) I am also a fan of [name]Leonidas[/name], but it might be a bit much paired up with [name]Maximus[/name]. If you have a third child, it might be hard to come up with something that fits in. [name]Julius[/name] and [name]August[/name] would be ok.
I think [name]Julius[/name] and [name]Leonidas[/name] would be too much. Too many “us”-es. [name]August[/name] is very nice, and [name]Theodore[/name] matches [name]Maximus[/name] well in my opinion ([name]Theo[/name] and [name]Max[/name], [name]August[/name] and [name]Max[/name], both are great). I agree that you don’t need to stick to [name]Roman[/name]/Latin names and shouldn’t go modern either. [name]Just[/name] find something you think is strong and handsome.
Thank you for confirming some things. My husband said he’d like to honor his father [name]Joseph[/name] next time around. I’m fine with it as a middle name. What sounds good with it? He’s also mentioned names like [name]Johan[/name], Jarl and [name]Jericho[/name]. He finds names that are even more out there than I do sometimes, haha. He’d be up for a variation of [name]Joseph[/name] too, like [name]Giuseppe[/name] or the like. Ideas?
