Brother name for Ruth

We have a 3yo named [name_f]Ruth[/name_f], and I want to name her brother Whitman…is that a good sib set? We’re looking for old fashioned/traditional more than biblical. I was also thinking about [name_m]Bram[/name_m]. We don’t want common, but we don’t want weird. Help nameberry!

There’s nothing wrong with [name_m]Whitman[/name_m] per se but I have to say [name_m]Bram[/name_m] and [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] is lovely!

I think [name_m]Whitman[/name_m] is totally lovely. I also love [name_m]Bram[/name_m]. I think [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] and [name_m]Bram[/name_m] make a really charming set! :maple_leaf::bear:

I don’t like [name_m]Whitman[/name_m]. [name_m]Bram[/name_m] is great, and works very well with [name_f]Ruth[/name_f].

[name_m]Whitman[/name_m] is nice and works with [name_f]Ruth[/name_f], but I do love Bram♡ [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] and [name_m]Bram[/name_m] is a dreamy set!

A few other ideas…

[name_f]Ruth[/name_f] and…

[name_m]Bramwell[/name_m]
[name_m]Ansel[/name_m]
[name_m]Winston[/name_m]
[name_u]Clyde[/name_u]
[name_m]Wilbur[/name_m]
[name_m]Barnaby[/name_m]
[name_m]Roland[/name_m]
[name_u]Ellis[/name_u]
[name_m]Jonty[/name_m]
[name_m]Gilbert[/name_m]
[name_u]Cecil[/name_u]

Whitman works okay, but I think Ruth & Bram would be perfection!

i like bram with ruth, but whitman is so so lovely!!! ruth and whitman make a really fantastic sibset, though you really can’t go wrong with either choice. :yellow_heart:

[name_m]Whitman[/name_m] and [name_m]Bram[/name_m] are both wonderful!

[name_m]Bram[/name_m] better than [name_m]Whitman[/name_m] - love [name_m]Bram[/name_m]. [name_u]Or[/name_u] [name_m]Abram[/name_m] (nn Bram). Alternatively [name_m]Abel[/name_m], [name_u]Walter[/name_u] (Walt), [name_u]Laurence[/name_u].

[name_m]Whitman[/name_m] + [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] sound so perfect as a sibling set. [name_m]Bram[/name_m] + [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] doesn’t have the same flow, I don’t think it’s necessarily bad but it isn’t ideal in my opinion. Some others:

[name_f]Ruth[/name_f] + [name_m]Adam[/name_m]
[name_f]Ruth[/name_f] + [name_m]Duncan[/name_m]
[name_f]Ruth[/name_f] + [name_m]Percival[/name_m]
[name_f]Ruth[/name_f] + [name_m]Quinton[/name_m]
[name_f]Ruth[/name_f] + [name_m]Xavier[/name_m]
[name_f]Ruth[/name_f] + [name_m]Zephan[/name_m]
[name_f]Ruth[/name_f] + [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m]
[name_f]Ruth[/name_f] + [name_m]Alec[/name_m]
[name_f]Ruth[/name_f] + [name_u]Haven[/name_u]
[name_f]Ruth[/name_f] + [name_u]Henry[/name_u]
[name_f]Ruth[/name_f] + [name_m]Donovan[/name_m] nickname [name_u]Donnie[/name_u]
[name_f]Ruth[/name_f] + [name_m]Viorel[/name_m]
[name_f]Ruth[/name_f] + [name_m]Cosmo[/name_m]
[name_f]Ruth[/name_f] + [name_u]Julian[/name_u]
[name_f]Ruth[/name_f] + [name_m]Mattis[/name_m]
[name_f]Ruth[/name_f] + [name_u]Jameson[/name_u]
[name_f]Ruth[/name_f] + [name_m]Collin[/name_m]
[name_f]Ruth[/name_f] + [name_m]Hershel[/name_m]

[name_m]Bram[/name_m] and [name_m]Whitman[/name_m] are very cool !

I love that [name_m]Bram[/name_m] and [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] would be 4 letter names and it has that familiar yet rare quality and is also a nod to biblical name

[name_m]Whitman[/name_m] feels substantial. I do worry about the wearability as when I first read the name I read it as Whiteman . Would Witman work

I also envision
[name_u]Walter[/name_u] / [name_u]Wallace[/name_u]
[name_m]Bruce[/name_m]
Whalen / [name_m]Waylon[/name_m]
[name_m]Vance[/name_m] / [name_m]Vince[/name_m]
Laurence/ [name_m]Lawerence[/name_m]
[name_u]Spencer[/name_u]

i’m with the majority. [name_m]Bram[/name_m] is the perfect match to [name_f]Ruth[/name_f]! [name_m]Whitman[/name_m] is OK but i definitely much prefer [name_m]Bram[/name_m]! Good luck
