I’m waiting until the birth to find the out gender of our little one due 9/22/14. And crazy as I am about names…I don’t even have a list going yet! Help me with boy and girl sibling names for [name_u]James[/name_u] [name_m]Hamilton[/name_m] and [name_m]Silas[/name_m] [name_m]Augustine[/name_m]!
[name_f]My[/name_f] husband likes [name_m]Archer[/name_m] for a boy, but so far has no suggestions for a girl.
I like the three top girls names that you have in your signature. I think they are classy and have the same feel as [name_u]James[/name_u] and [name_m]Silas[/name_m] do. [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] is especially nice.
Eta: [name_f]Sabina[/name_f] is nice as well. [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] is one I personally like, [name_f]Aveline[/name_f] I think is pretty too.
From your signiture I really like [name_f]Adeline[/name_f], [name_f]Lydia[/name_f], [name_m]Archer[/name_m] and [name_m]Henry[/name_m]. Some other suggestion:
[name_u]James[/name_u] [name_m]Hamilton[/name_m] (3yrs) and [name_m]Silas[/name_m] [name_m]Augustine[/name_m] (1.5yrs). [name_m]New[/name_m] addition 10/14!
You are a hard one to pinpoint! [name_u]James[/name_u] and [name_m]Silas[/name_m] had me thinking you like traditional names, but [name_f]Freya[/name_f], [name_m]Hugo[/name_m], etc. make me think you like different names but with a bit of class and tradition added in. I’m still not sure I’ve got your taste, but I’m going to try again anyway:
I do like names a bit further down the list, like 1000’s, but I am trying to have a list that will have at least one name that my husband can agree to. He chose [name_u]James[/name_u] (I diverted from his mn choice [name_m]Wilson[/name_m] and picked another family name, [name_m]Hamilton[/name_m]. I chose [name_m]Silas[/name_m], his mn would have been Ehrhardt if it was left up to me, but Hubby wanted to have the nn “[name_u]Gus[/name_u]” via [name_m]Augustus[/name_m]…so I used [name_m]Augustine[/name_m] as a compromise.) In the end, I do really like [name_m]Silas[/name_m] [name_m]Augustine[/name_m], so it worked out.
That being said, [name_m]Archer[/name_m] is hubby’s choice, not mine, but I am okay with it. I think I prefer [name_m]Anders[/name_m], but I’m not totally satisfied with mn [name_u]Elliot[/name_u]. I still want to use Ehrhardt (family name) but [name_m]Anders[/name_m] Ehrhardt and [name_m]Archer[/name_m] Ehrhardt are a little heavy on the “Er” and don’t have the best flow with surname [name_f]Nyx[/name_f].
[name_f]Rozelle[/name_f] (my grandma pn it [name_f]Rose[/name_f]-[name_f]Elle[/name_f], but I also like short “o” [name_f]Roz[/name_f]-[name_f]Elle[/name_f]) is another family name I really like, my Great Grandfather’s middle name. I am currently trying to find out from my Great Aunt if there is any further genealogy for [name_f]Rozelle[/name_f] in the family or where it came from. However, he died in his early 40’s so my grandmother and her siblings may not know that much about his family tree.
The List is slowly shaping up as…
[name_u]James[/name_u] [name_m]Hamilton[/name_m], [name_m]Silas[/name_m] [name_m]Augustine[/name_m] and…
[name_u]Arden[/name_u] [name_u]Sage[/name_u]/[name_u]Saige[/name_u]
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Rozelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Leona[/name_f]/[name_f]Lenore[/name_f]/[name_f]Lenora[/name_f]/[name_f]Laurel[/name_f] [name_m]Bancroft[/name_m]
OR
[name_m]Archer[/name_m] [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m]/[name_m]Anderson[/name_m]/[name_m]Perkins[/name_m] (my maiden)/[name_m]Solomon[/name_m] (I will never win with [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m], but I do adore it).
[name_m]Anders[/name_m] [name_u]Elliot[/name_u]/? other 3 syllable middle name?
So many good suggestions make it fun, and hard to decide!
[name_m]Rufus[/name_m] is secretly growing on me.
[name_m]Errol[/name_m] is an awesome name!
I have liked [name_f]Cosima[/name_f] for awhile, but can’t win hubby over, same with [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]. Around here [name_f]Bea[/name_f] is a fat old lady, not the vision of beauty in [name_m]Dante[/name_m].
[name_u]James[/name_u] is one of my favorite names and [name_m]Silas[/name_m] is very handsome, too. I really like [name_f]Leona[/name_f] and [name_m]Archer[/name_m] with them. I would vote for [name_f]Laurel[/name_f] if [name_m]Silas[/name_m] didn’t mean “wood”/“forest” because then [name_u]James[/name_u] would be kind of left out.
[name_u]James[/name_u] and [name_m]Silas[/name_m] both end in S. You could carry that on with baby #3. It wouldn’t have to end in S, just sound like it does. It would be subtle, especially if any of your children go by a nickname…
[name_f]My[/name_f] grandma’s mn is [name_m]Bancroft[/name_m], great great’s maiden was Ehrhardt. Those are front runners for mn. And [name_f]My[/name_f] maiden, [name_m]Perkins[/name_m].
[name_f]My[/name_f] boys have middle names with 3 syllables, ending in “n” sound. It was accidental, but I am curious to see if there are any more names that fit the bill.
[name_u]Orion[/name_u] just came to mind!
