Brother or Sister for Sasha

I have only recently found this site. I am newly pregnant with my second child. My first is a girl named [name]Sasha[/name]. I will be open here and admit I had a lot of baby name remorse with my first girl, and I don’t want to go through that again. The name was chosen very last minute when my husband and I could not agree.
I do now love the name but this time around I would like to have chosen then name before birth.
What names go with [name]Sasha[/name]???
For a girl, I like names like [name]Grace[/name], [name]Ava[/name], [name]Elsa[/name], [name]Charlotte[/name]
For a boy I like [name]Thomas[/name], [name]Henry[/name] or [name]Edward[/name]. I also like [name]Joshua[/name], but not sure I can have a [name]Josh[/name] and a [name]Sash[/name]! Middle name will most likely be [name]Charles[/name] for my dad.
Thank you for any help!

[name]Hi[/name], and welcome to nameberry
First off I think [name]Sasha[/name] is a lovely name for a girl; it’s got a strong feminine vibe without being overly frilly. From your girls choices, [name]Grace[/name] and [name]Ava[/name] are very popular, but still beautiful and classic. I just think that with [name]Sasha[/name] they sound rather plain. I love [name]Elsa[/name] though! It’s got the same spunkiness that [name]Sasha[/name] has and isn’t as popular. Then there’s [name]Charlotte[/name] which I love, but after saying it with [name]Sasha[/name], I got tongue-tied. Like [name]Joshua[/name], the ‘sh’ sound in both names make it a little difficult to say with [name]Sasha[/name].
Onto your boys names…they’re all lovely classic names which I love. I’m just thinking that maybe a classic name with a cute and spunky nickname would be perfect with [name]Sasha[/name], as [name]Sasha[/name] has that spunky vibe.

[name]Eva[/name] - less popular and more distinctive than [name]Ava[/name], at least in my opinion

[name]Love[/name] [name]Edward[/name] on your list, maybe with the nn [name]Ned[/name]?
[name]Nathan[/name]/[name]Nathaniel[/name] nn [name]Nate[/name]
[name]Alexander[/name] ([name]Xander[/name])
[name]Joseph[/name] ([name]Joe[/name])
[name]Oliver[/name] ([name]Ollie[/name])
[name]Sebastian[/name] ([name]Seb[/name]/[name]Bas[/name])
[name]Benjamin[/name] ([name]Ben[/name]/[name]Benji[/name])

[name]Hope[/name] this helps

I also think [name]Sasha[/name] is a great name. It’s the perfect mix of known, but not too common and feminine, but not too girly.

I agree with the poster above that [name]Elsa[/name] is the name that I think goes best with [name]Sasha[/name] from yoru list. [name]Charlotte[/name] and [name]Sasha[/name] are a bit tongue-twisty.

I think [name]Edward[/name] would go very well with [name]Sasha[/name]. Although [name]Sasha[/name] is used primarily for girls, it can also be a boy’s name so I think it’s important to have a clear, manly boys name to avoid any confusion.

Good luck!

Oh, I love the name [name]Sasha[/name] for a girl! I would pick [name]Ava[/name] (or how about [name]Eva[/name]?) to be her sister!

For a boy, I love [name]Henry[/name]!

[name]Sasha[/name] is a great name! [name]Grace[/name] and [name]Ava[/name] are too popular [name]IMO[/name], [name]Elsa[/name] is ok, [name]Charlotte[/name] is nice.

Other ideas:
[name]Sasha[/name] and [name]Felicity[/name]
[name]Sasha[/name] and [name]Estie[/name]

[name]Sasha[/name] and [name]Ella[/name]
[name]Sasha[/name] and [name]Beatrix[/name]
[name]Sasha[/name] and [name]Laurel[/name]
[name]Sasha[/name] and [name]Aubrey[/name]

[name]Sasha[/name] and [name]Lena[/name]
[name]Sasha[/name] and [name]Shiloh[/name]
[name]Sasha[/name] and [name]Ruby[/name]
[name]Sasha[/name] and [name]Whitney[/name]
[name]Sasha[/name] and [name]Gretchen[/name]
[name]Sasha[/name] and [name]Willow[/name]

From your boy names I like [name]Henry[/name] [name]Charles[/name] best.

[name]Milo[/name] [name]Charles[/name]
[name]Dean[/name] [name]Charles[/name]
[name]Adam[/name] [name]Charles[/name]
[name]Emmett[/name] [name]Charles[/name]
[name]Andrew[/name] [name]Charles[/name]

Maybe you’ll think I’m crazy, but with [name]Sasha[/name] ( great strong name, btw) I hear [name]Cecily[/name] and [name]Derek[/name]-- but maybe spelled [name]Derrick[/name]?

Thank you everyone.
I think I am leaning towards [name]Henry[/name] [name]Charles[/name] at this stage for a boy.

Why is naming a girl so difficult for me??

From all the suggestions the ones that grab me are…

but would the following be better matches to [name]Sasha[/name]?

My husband likes [name]Emma[/name] which I agree is a beautiful name but is it too popular to go with [name]Sasha[/name]

Thank you again!

From the names you’re liking most recently the ones that stand out to me are [name]Claudia[/name], [name]Clara[/name] and [name]Lydia[/name] to go with [name]Sasha[/name]. I would steer clear of more popular/trendy names like [name]Ava[/name], [name]Grace[/name], etc. to more evenly match [name]Sasha[/name]'s name.

[name]Hi[/name]! I have a little [name]Sophia[/name] (aged 5) whom we came quite close to naming [name]Sasha[/name]. It’s a lovely name with a bit of spice. I think that [name]Sasha[/name]'s best matches on your list are [name]Claudia[/name] and [name]Elsa[/name]–both feel faintly exotic/European like [name]Sasha[/name] and they share roughly the same popularity, I think. [name]Petra[/name] and [name]Vera[/name] also come to mind as names that might work if they’re to your taste. I think [name]Elsa[/name] and [name]Vera[/name] might especially work because, though they are full names, they could potentially be nicknames for longer names, as [name]Sasha[/name] is as well.

I don’t think [name]Sophia[/name] particularly works with [name]Sasha[/name], not so much because of her popularity (I’m not one to be especially deterred by popularity), but because [name]Sophia[/name] feels much more formal than [name]Sasha[/name] and shares her first and last sounds. I agree that [name]Emma[/name] is beautiful, and again, I don’t personally think using a popular name is a crisis, especially if you love a name (I know others disagree). I also think it’s way more important to love your kids’ names individually than to come up with a perfectly matched set–but just for your consideration, my name is [i]way[i] [i] less popular than my brother’s and I was always jealous of him for having such an accepted name growing up. I’m quite sure he wasn’t jealous of me for my name, but of course the Emmas (or Sophias) of this world could also be jealous of their more unusually named siblings. So, all things being equal, I’d try to choose names of roughly the same popularity. But I’d forget all that if [name]Emma[/name] (for example) is what makes you happiest.

Good luck and sorry to be so long-winded.

I love [name]Henry[/name] [name]Charles[/name] for a boy! For a girl, I love:

Sorry for repeats.
[name]Sasha[/name] and:

Thank you again every one for your great suggestions. I am already feeling more comfortable about being able to choose a girl’s name.

My short list (with a few new ones I have thought of) is now

Middle name most likely will be family name [name]Juliet[/name]

From your new list I am most in love with [name]Freya[/name] [name]Juliet[/name]. What a wonderful combination with [name]Sasha[/name]! My other favorite is [name]Claudia[/name] [name]Juliet[/name].
