[name]Glad[/name] we aren’t the only ones struggling with this. I am due any time and don’t feel as if we have really found the right names. Boy names are definitely harder for us. We’d appreciate any suggestions. Our last name is a two-syllable german name starting with M, however we our roots are also english and irish.
We are leaning towards [name]Riley[/name] or [name]Rylee[/name] if it’s a girl but are a little concerned about its popularity. We like names that are a little distinctive but not too off the wall. For boy names, we like [name]Cooper[/name], [name]Max[/name], [name]Gus[/name] or [name]Dashiell[/name].
Indeed [name]Riley[/name]/[name]Rylee[/name] and it’s alternate spellings are quite popular these days. Form your boys, I’m quite partial to [name]Gus[/name]. ([name]August[/name] is on my own boys list. I find [name]Gus[/name] so warm & charming! [name]Max[/name] is as popular as [name]Riley[/name]/[name]Rylee[/name] etc. and [name]Dashiell[/name] charms me to my toes.
Would you entertain a longer form for [name]Max[/name] & [name]Gus[/name]? [name]Just[/name] so they have an option or two as they get older. Always nice to have options, I think.
[name]Max[/name]:
[name]Maximilian[/name]
[name]Maxwell[/name]
[name]Maxim[/name]
[name]Maxen[/name]
[name]Maximus[/name]
you could aslo name him [name]Magnus[/name] and nn him [name]Max[/name], if you wished.
you could even name him [name]Constantine[/name] and nickname him [name]Gus[/name], if you wanted.
[name]Dashiell[/name] [name]August[/name] would be my pairing of choice fro your boys. Handsome, suave and [name]Dash[/name] is a cool nickname option, especially if he’s a typical boy!
Now, for a sister to [name]Sydney[/name] [name]Marie[/name], you could go either way; a bit more feminine or unisex, here are options for both directions:
I would be wary of using [name]Riley[/name]/[name]Rylee[/name] at the moment due to it’s popularity - it’s a fairly ‘new’ name for girls, and has got popular fairly quickly, which may lead to it ending up sounding quite dated. I personally find the meaning of ‘rye clearing’ to be a little unimaginative and uninspiring. Some alternatives to [name]Riley[/name] in sound include: [name]Rhiannon[/name], [name]Rhia[/name], [name]Rivka[/name], [name]Mariah[/name], Ailie, [name]Amelie[/name], [name]Lorelei[/name], [name]Aurelie[/name], [name]Cecily[/name], [name]Julie[/name], [name]Rosalie[/name] and [name]Ottilie[/name].
[name]Max[/name], [name]Gus[/name] and [name]Dashiell[/name] are all very handsome boys names - though I think [name]Gus[/name] works better as a nickname (I like it as a nn of [name]Augustine[/name] and [name]Angus[/name]). [name]Cooper[/name], like [name]Riley[/name], has a rather unimaginative meaning of ‘barrel maker’, being a professional surname.
Some other names that may appeal:
Girls:
[name]Rowan[/name]/[name]Rowena[/name]
Kensa
[name]Adrienne[/name]
[name]Neve[/name]
[name]Lila[/name]
[name]Jillian[/name]
[name]Georgia[/name]
[name]Philippa[/name]
Hm. [name_f]Do[/name_f] not go with other “place” names because that would seem off.
[name_u]Eloise[/name_u] would be cute
[name_f]Arabella[/name_f] would be nice. She could go by [name_f]Bella[/name_f] without it being the basic [name_f]Isabella[/name_f]
