Brother or sister for Vera and Ike

My husband and I aren’t finding out the gender until the baby is born, so we need to come up with names for either scenario! Our eldest is [name_f]Vera[/name_f] [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] and our little guy is [name_m]Ike[/name_m] [name_m]Walter[/name_m]. Some of the names we are considering have family ties, but we are open to suggestions! Possibilities include:

[name_u]Asa[/name_u] [name_m]Ben[/name_m] ([name_m]Benton[/name_m] is a family name)
[name_m]Harvey[/name_m] [name_m]Scot[/name_m] ([name_m]Scot[/name_m] is a family name)

[name_f]Lottie[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] (after a [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_f]Ruth[/name_f])
[name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_u]Bright[/name_u] ([name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] is a family name)

I particularly [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_u]Asa[/name_u] for a boy, but the hubs isn’t loving it with [name_m]Ben[/name_m]…

Now that you see our name style, any ideas??

[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_m]Harvey[/name_m] [name_m]Scot[/name_m] and [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_u]Bright[/name_u]! You’ve chosen some lovely names!

I would go with [name_m]Benton[/name_m] [name_m]Scot[/name_m] and [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_u]Bright[/name_u]

Good luck!

Wow, very cool names! [name_u]Love[/name_u] your style and your kids names are so awesome.
I particularly like [name_u]Asa[/name_u], but agree that [name_m]Ben[/name_m] doesn’t sound quite right with it. Could you do [name_u]Asa[/name_u] [name_m]Benton[/name_m], [name_u]Asa[/name_u] [name_m]Bennett[/name_m], or [name_u]Asa[/name_u] [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m]?
My favorite of your girls names is [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f]. So sweet and vintage just like [name_f]Vera[/name_f]! [name_u]Bright[/name_u] is a different choice for a middle name. It sounds cool but I would go with something more traditional like your other kids. [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f], [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]?

Good luck, you have some great options!

Your kids have gorgeous names! I particularly love [name_f]Vera[/name_f] [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], to be honest!

Of your options, I’d choose [name_m]Harvey[/name_m] and [name_f]Lottie[/name_f], but I also love [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f]. Is it possible to use [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]?

I love all of your suggestions! My faves are [name_f]Lottie[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f]. [name_f]Vera[/name_f], [name_m]Ike[/name_m] and [name_f]Lottie[/name_f] sounds great to me! I too, love [name_u]Asa[/name_u], why not just [name_u]Asa[/name_u] [name_m]Benton[/name_m]? That’s my favorite of the boys. [name_f]Vera[/name_f], [name_m]Ike[/name_m], and [name_u]Asa[/name_u]!

I love your kids names!

All the choices are nice but I love [name_u]Asa[/name_u] and [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] best. I’m biased because I have an [name_u]Asa[/name_u] I agree [name_m]Ben[/name_m] feels short with it though. how about with [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] or [name_m]Bennett[/name_m]?

I love [name_f]Vera[/name_f], [name_m]Ike[/name_m] & [name_m]Harvey[/name_m]!

And [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_u]Bright[/name_u] is just naming genius! [name_u]LOVE[/name_u]

Asa Ben sounds too abrupt. I like the previously suggested Benton Scot much better.

I agree with @tiannarose. [name_f]Vera[/name_f], [name_m]Ike[/name_m], and [name_m]Harvey[/name_m] sound the best. For a girl, I think [name_f]Vera[/name_f], [name_m]Ike[/name_m], and [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] sound the best. This is purely on a sound opinion of all the names together. Personally, I’d much prefer [name_u]Asa[/name_u] over [name_m]Harvey[/name_m]. [name_u]Asa[/name_u] is a modern antiquity (sorry, [name_f]Elea[/name_f], I had to steal that phrase!), and I think for the right parents, it can become popular. [name_m]Harvey[/name_m] sounds dated, even though I do have a soft spot for [name_m]Harvey[/name_m]. I would prefer [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f], however, over [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_u]Bright[/name_u]. [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] I think is a perfect middle name option and works with just about every name because it is one consonant without ending in a traditional name sound for women (i.e., “a”, “ie”). [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] is “th” heavy, but I think that adds to the charm.

Awesome names! I like [name_u]Asa[/name_u] best with [name_f]Vera[/name_f] and [name_m]Ike[/name_m]. [name_u]Asa[/name_u] [name_m]Ben[/name_m] works, but [name_u]Asa[/name_u] [name_m]Benton[/name_m] might make for a more complete-sounding combo.

On the girls side, I love both of these. I really like [name_f]Lottie[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] a lot, and I love that you get two honor names in. On the other hand, [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_u]Bright[/name_u] is SO fun. I like how the unexpected “[name_u]Bright[/name_u]” gives he combo some spunk, like [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] does for the [name_f]Vera[/name_f] combo. If I HAD to choose, I would pick [name_f]Lottie[/name_f].

[name_m]Axl[/name_m] or [name_f]Rose[/name_f] seem to fit well with [name_f]Vera[/name_f] and [name_m]Ike[/name_m] (or maybe I’m having an 80’s flashback)

[name_u]Asa[/name_u] [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] or [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] would be my suggestions. [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] can have nicknames [name_f]Dorie[/name_f], [name_f]Dodo[/name_f], or [name_f]Dot[/name_f]/[name_f]Dotty[/name_f].
