Bruce Henry

I am trying to get a feel for how people feel about the name [name_m]Bruce[/name_m] [name_m]Henry[/name_m] for a boy. My husband and I love a number of celebrities with the name [name_m]Bruce[/name_m] and I do love that it was the name of a king in [name_f]Scotland[/name_f]. I also love the scottish/english roots attached to the name because that is my family’s roots. [name_m]Henry[/name_m] is a family name.
Please let me know your thoughts.

I don’t like [name_m]Bruce[/name_m] as a first name. To me, it sounds terribly dated. I prefer [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Bruce[/name_m]. [name_m]Henry[/name_m] is a name that’s quite popular right now, so a little [name_m]Henry[/name_m] would fit right in.

I think it’s great. As you’ve heard some people will find it dated for sure. So if you’re okay with that then I think you should use it. It’s a solid name with history and it will be unique in his class growing up. I like how the combo [name_m]Bruce[/name_m] [name_m]Henry[/name_m] sounds too. plus the br sound is always popular for boys i don’t think it will stick out that much.

[name_m]Bruce[/name_m] is fresh. It reminds me of [name_m]Bruce[/name_m] [name_m]Wayne[/name_m]. I think it takes a person meeting a little [name_m]Bruce[/name_m] to wrap their heads around it. I met one on the playground the other day (he was like 5 or 6) and I was smitten! I’d way rather meet a little [name_m]Bruce[/name_m] than ANOTHER [name_m]Henry[/name_m] or [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] or [name_m]Theodore[/name_m].

I like [name_m]Henry[/name_m] but I dislike [name_m]Bruce[/name_m].

I love [name_m]Bruce[/name_m]! For me, it’s a strong, positive name. I went to school with a [name_m]Bruce[/name_m] (only for a year or so) and he was quite a popular, sweet boy so he’s the first person I think of when I think of the name. But I also admire many celebrities with the name, making it all the more appealing.

[name_m]Bruce[/name_m] [name_m]Henry[/name_m] sounds handsome!

I agree!

I’m in [name_f]Scotland[/name_f], and my co worker name is [name_m]Bruce[/name_m]. You definitely don’t hear it on young people around here. I’m not a fan, and I reckon there are nicer Scottish names around. I also prefer [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Bruce[/name_m], and you could still call him [name_m]Bruce[/name_m].

I really like [name_m]Bruce[/name_m], recognizable but uncommon, easy for both a child and adult to wear. I also like [name_m]Henry[/name_m] but I’m not sure if it would be my first choice as a middle name for a [name_m]Bruce[/name_m]. Personally I think I would go with [name_m]Bruce[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m].
