Is [name_f]Buffy[/name_f] prime for a revival or is it too connected to the TV show?
As a nickname it could work, not as a legal name
Its still pretty connected to the vampire slayer for me.
And even without it it makes me think of being ‘in the buff’…
It’s very connected to the TV show which there’s been talk of rebooting. As a nickname it could maybe work but definitely not as a full name (I prefer it as a nn anyways).
As a nickname; as a fullname, it’s a bit much
[name_f]My[/name_f] immediate thought is the Vampire Slayer and I would assume that someome named [name_f]Buffy[/name_f] was named after the show (or movie). However, I think it could work as a nickname amongst family and close friends.

Ha! This is true age. To me the only TV show it is too connected to is The Family Affair!
I would dearly love for [name_f]Buffy[/name_f] to make a comeback as its own cute name/nickname without the TV association because it’s adorable, however I do think as things stand the association is strong 
my brother was at school with an [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] nn [name_f]Buffy[/name_f] (so she’d be early twenties now) but unsure whether she was named after, or in spite of, [name_f]Buffy[/name_f] [name_f]Summers[/name_f] 
Fine as a nickname. As a legal name, I think it is too connected with the show. It just doesn’t have many other associations - there’s [name_f]Buffy[/name_f] St [name_u]Marie[/name_u], but I doubt kids are really aware of her. [name_m]Even[/name_m] without the show, it’s a nickname-y, informal type of name and I’m not sure I would recommend it.
For me it’s definitely too connected to the show / film.
Apparently it can be a nickname for [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] so that might be a consideration.
As a nickname, go for it! I’ve always thought it was really weird sounding, even without the vampire association.
I personally just can’t see it working as anything other than a sometimes used nickname, and it would absolutely still be connected to the vampire slayer. Maybe in another 15-20 years people will have forgotten about that and it could come back?
I would immediately think [name_f]Buffy[/name_f] [name_f]Summers[/name_f], but I was a HUGE [name_f]Buffy[/name_f] fan in high school.
