Cadence

So what do y’all think of [name_f]Cadence[/name_f]? I am actually surprised I like this name because I dislike the name [name_f]Candace[/name_f] and the names are so similar. Also, it isn’t [name_m]OTT[/name_m] frilly like some of the other names I like. Nevertheless, here we are and I find myself more in love with this name every day. I also like the cute nickname [name_f]Cady[/name_f], which [name_u]Lindsay[/name_u] Lohan made more mainstream but the downside is that her reputation may have tarnished the name.

So what are your honest thoughts about [name_f]Cadence[/name_f]? Be as harsh as you want as I’d rather hear it now than later.
Thank you to all who take to time to respond.

I think [name_f]Cadence[/name_f] is a great name, as is the nn [name_f]Cady[/name_f]. I wouldn’t worry too much about the Mean Girls associaton, but if it bothers you, you could go with [name_f]Kaydence[/name_f], nn [name_f]Kady[/name_f]. [name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps!

[name_f]Cadence[/name_f] is pretty. It’s funny you mentioned [name_f]Candace[/name_f], because [name_f]Candace[/name_f] is one of my favorite names with [name_m]Ace[/name_m] for a possible nickname.
I still think I like [name_f]Cadence[/name_f]. It isn’t on my list, but it could grow on me. [name_f]Cady[/name_f] is an adorable nickname.

Some middle ideas:

[name_f]Cadence[/name_f] [name_f]Fiona[/name_f]

[name_f]Cadence[/name_f] [name_f]Olivia[/name_f]
[name_f]Cadence[/name_f] [name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
[name_f]Cadence[/name_f] [name_f]Gabrielle[/name_f]
[name_f]Cadence[/name_f] [name_f]Brianna[/name_f]

I really like the name [name_f]Cadence[/name_f] nn [name_f]Cady[/name_f], though it’s not my style. I don’t like the other spellings. For some reason it has a dated feel to it, though I don’t know why…maybe the close association to [name_f]Candace[/name_f]. I had no idea what you were talking about in re: to [name_u]Lindsay[/name_u] Lohan so I don’t think that has tarnished the name….not that I’m one to judge by.

I love the musical connection.

I think [name_f]Cadence[/name_f] is a very pretty name and [name_f]Cady[/name_f] is an adorable nn.

I love, [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Cadence[/name_f]! It reminds me of the [name_f]My[/name_f] [name_m]Little[/name_m] Pony character Mi Amore [name_f]Cadenza[/name_f],which is a sweet association. She’s a princess and goes by the name [name_f]Cadence[/name_f].

It puts me in mind of names like [name_f]Prudence[/name_f]…I don’t really like it–too heavy.

@Sophiejanae [name_f]Glad[/name_f] you like the name  The [name_f]Cady[/name_f] association doesn’t bother me too much but I definately prefer the [name_f]Cadence[/name_f] spelling.

@Ashleyjuliette [name_f]Candace[/name_f] is a lovely solid name that is very similar, but I never liked it enough to add to my list. [name_m]Ace[/name_m] is also a great nickname for [name_f]Candace[/name_f]. Thanks for the middle suggestions :stuck_out_tongue:

@aym I like it alot as well and it’s not my style either, which confuses me. I also don’t care for the other spellings. The [name_u]Lindsay[/name_u] Lohan connection is that she played a character with the name [name_f]Cady[/name_f] in the popular film Mean Girls. I also think it seems dated/ will be dated. However, I think [name_f]Cadence[/name_f] is more closely tied to the character from American Wedding (though I’ve never seen the movie) as the name hit the popularity charts around the same time. (Well actually the year before but I’m sure the association to the popular franchise helped it out). I love the musical connection as well.

@ellie24 [name_f]Glad[/name_f] you like the name.

@oiseau I sort of liked the name before, but I will admit that I baby sat my cousin last week and she had a moving, talking [name_f]Cadence[/name_f] doll from [name_f]My[/name_f] [name_m]Little[/name_m] Pony that cemented my love of the name. I knew I just loved it when she said “I’m princess [name_f]Cadence[/name_f]…” I just didn’t want to write that a [name_m]Little[/name_m] Pony with the name made me love it even more.

@rknd Thanks for the honest feedback. I understand fully what you are saying because this name isn’t really my style, so I think it may clash with the other names on my list.

Edited for privacy.

I actually love the name [name_f]Cadence[/name_f] and I have for awhile too!

I have never liked it. Sorry :(. Maybe it’s because I’m a musician and I don’t like using a musical term for a name.

I love it! I think it’s so sweet and girly! I don’t understand, honestly, how people find it trashy. I also like [name_f]Kadence[/name_f] and [name_f]Kaydence[/name_f] but can’t see myself having the guts to use them.

@saracita00 I typically don’t like word names in general (aside from the flower names) so I am really surprised that I like [name_f]Cadence[/name_f]. [name_f]Glad[/name_f] someone else out there likes this name as much as I do.

@Cuddles4444 [name_f]Glad[/name_f] you like the name :slight_smile:

@peachie It’s fine I understand. I just want to see how many people dislike the name and why exactly they dislike it.

@sparkleinja18 I only like the [name_f]Cadence[/name_f] spelling. I don’t typically like word names so objectively I can understand why people find the name trashy, though in this case I still love the name.
