[name_f]Alana[/name_f] [name_f]Kaitlin[/name_f] Ballis (28) is the woman [name_u]Dutton[/name_u] went on a date with, who’s recently learned of her pregnancy. A music producer who specialises in promotion and handling artists networking, Alana’s used to dealing with stress - especially given her clients reputations and public perceptions of them - this is something else all together. The man who got [name_f]Alana[/name_f] pregnant was a very brief relationship that she was eager to get out of: the guy in question was overly intense and pressured [name_f]Alana[/name_f] frequently to make huge decisions she wasn’t ready for, which is why she’s been careful with news of her pregnancy.
He has been informed, as [name_f]Alana[/name_f] knew things could explode if she hid it, however it took a lot of difficult phone calls and texts to get him to back off from the idea of forcing her into a nuclear family setup with him. This has come in the aftermath of her date with [name_u]Dutton[/name_u], and it’s been playing on her mind a lot. Their time together was absolutely wonderful - [name_f]Alana[/name_f] owns a pet gecko, [name_u]Claude[/name_u], and a tortoise named [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m] - however she’s felt a lot of guilt at the idea of [name_u]Dutton[/name_u] feeling pressured to be there for her, or that he was lied to when they first saw each other.
The main person she’s confided in while navigating this situation has been her older sister, who’s already a mother to two children: Alana’s niece and nephew. She’s always been someone blunt and capable of giving sound advice, which is what [name_f]Alana[/name_f] knows she needs during this time. Above everything else, her unborn child is going to come first, but at the same time she doesn’t want to hurt [name_u]Dutton[/name_u] or reject him based on the fear she’s experienced. At least she’s been able to take time off work to figure everything out, as dealing with someone sparring with their ex on Twitter would probably push her into asking to go into witness protection!
