Warning: This woman has also killed someone due to reckless driving. She is a bad influence and serves no justification for her actions.
[name_u]Bristol[/name_u] [name_u]Cortney[/name_u] [name_m]Eustis[/name_m] (34) is a friendly acquaintance and part-time caregiver of Cherry’s mother, feeling like it is her duty to give back. After all, like [name_f]Cherry[/name_f], [name_u]Bristol[/name_u] also committed wrongful death in a fatal car accident. When [name_u]Bristol[/name_u] was 18, just freshly graduated, she caused a fatal crash that summer. She was driving recklessly and while she was lucky not to crash into other cars, she killed her friend, a passenger in her own car, when the car hit a pole. [name_u]Bristol[/name_u] only had a few bruises but her best friend was deceased at the scene.
[name_u]Bristol[/name_u] was not lucky and did not get freed. She wouldn’t be freed until 14 years of a prison term. She knows some people would get off easier but is aware some get off much harder. Prison conditions were nothing she’d wish on anyone but the hardest part was leaving prison. 14 years is a long time for an 18-year-old. She was 18 when sent and not released until 32. Her entire 20s, a time people say to make the most of, was entirely spent behind bars. Other people from her school have gone to college, gotten careers, gotten married, had children, etc. while her life essentially froze the moment she went to prison. Some former classmates really did make the most of their lives. Not [name_u]Bristol[/name_u].
And not the friend she killed either. While [name_u]Bristol[/name_u] feels bad for herself and how her sentencing affected her own life, her friend’s life completely ended. Her friend was the valedictorian, going to college on scholarship, and had dreams with plans to make them successful. She was also a very kind individual and many of her other friends were people she managed to keep since early childhood. [name_u]Bristol[/name_u] took that all away. [name_u]Bristol[/name_u] had made sure not to make her decisions all about her anymore. She befriended Cherry’s mother given the similar circumstances, and also given Bristol’s father hasn’t talked to her since she left 2 years ago. He didn’t leave because he’s an absent parent though, he left out of disowning her. Some of her family talks to her occasionally but [name_u]Bristol[/name_u] knows that their lives are happier knowing they made good decisions while she didn’t. Sometimes [name_u]Bristol[/name_u] is bothered by Cherry’s lack of sentencing but never acts like she’s better than [name_f]Cherry[/name_f]. [name_u]Bristol[/name_u] believes she’s in no place to give advice to anyone and she would rather not make the [name_m]Blackburn[/name_m] family worse off. She’s grateful she still has her life despite how terrible she was that day driving and she knows the rest of her life will not be spent without repaying the family of her killed friend. [name_u]Bristol[/name_u] has few contacts and often spends time away from people. She’s gotten scorn but never retaliates. [name_u]Bristol[/name_u] loves her family no matter how distanced they are from her but lets them live their own lives without interference.
