These are two of my favorite biblical names! I love them. I’m just curious as to what you berries think of them. Useable or not? I probably won’t use them, as I already have [name]Robert[/name] picked out for a boy and they wouldn’t work as mns with our last name. [name]Robert[/name] [name]Abel[/name] Hitt? I don’t think so. [name]Robert[/name] [name]Cain[/name] Hitt? Nope!
Yes. [name]Robert[/name] [name]Cain[/name] Hit sounds/looks like “[name]Robert[/name] Can Hit.” Not sure if you want that as a phrase to be used for your kid. Unless it implies something positive, like your [name]Robert[/name] can hit a mean baseball and such.
[name]Robert[/name] [name]Abel[/name] Hitt? Not feeling that one either.
Although these are your favorites, were there others you are considering? And are you looking for a particular type of name? Perhaps we can help, if you’d give us a little more info
[name]Magnus[/name] has been my favorite for quite awhile now, but i’m still not really sure if I can see it on my child. Like I said, I’d probably never use [name]Abel[/name] or [name]Cain[/name], but I still can’t help how in love with them I am! There’s really no trend in the boy’s names that I like. I just know when I see one and fall in love with it! I hate not having a style lol would you ever use [name]Cain[/name] or [name]Abel[/name]? I hope someone does if I can’t! Lol
I really like the name [name]Cain[/name]. I’ll probably save it for a dog though.
I wouldn’t use [name]Cain[/name] or [name]Abel[/name] because of the story of [name]Cain[/name] and [name]Abel[/name].
Nonetheless, [name]Cain[/name] is a nice name (More often that not, I think of [name]Michael[/name] [name]Cain[/name] before I think of [name]Cain[/name] and [name]Abel[/name], though. Hehe). Maybe as a middle and tribute to [name]Michael[/name] [name]Cain[/name]. … Then again, I am not sure who likes the actor [name]Michael[/name] [name]Cain[/name] as much as I do, to think it was a good idea to use it as a middle - I have no idea!
[name]Magnus[/name] sounds more like a pet name to me [name]May[/name] I suggest [name]Maximus[/name]? What do you think?
And I know what you mean about knowing as soon as you see it. That’s the way I was when I found my favorite girl name.
I like Maxamillian better than [name]Maximus[/name], but hate the nn [name]Max[/name] that inevitably comes with the two! The negative associations in the bible don’t bother me at all, I don’t think many people are even aware of it these days anyway. Is it bad that I have no idea who [name]Michael[/name] [name]Cain[/name] is? lol
Sorry but I dont think [name]Cain[/name] is that usable, I think even people who dont practice Christianity are aware to some degree of the story of [name]Cain[/name] and [name]Abel[/name] or the phrase “raising [name]Cain[/name]” which is a reference to him and basically means causing trouble or raising hell.
You just reminded me! There’s a Raising [name]Cane[/name]'s Chicken Fingers that’s really popular here. hmmm that’s another strike for [name]Cain[/name]! Lol
HAHAHAHA, not at all! He was in this film called, “Miss Congeniality.” I think most people know of that film. He plays the Miss USA pageant coach in it.
Anyhow, I do hope you spot your next “[name]Cain[/name] and/or [name]Abel[/name]”-esque name(s)! I know I find more difficulty in the search for a boy’s name than a girl’s name.
Hmm… You like the name [name]Robert[/name]? I’d guess I can just throw out some names for you to consider:
[name]Robert[/name] [name]Amael[/name] Hitt
[name]Robert[/name] [name]Iain[/name] Hitt (It’s pronounced the same way as “[name]Ian[/name]” but with similar spelling as “[name]Cain[/name]”)
[name]Robert[/name] [name]Alec[/name] Hitt (I just met someone with this name recently)
[name]Robert[/name] [name]Gideon[/name] Hitt(“[name]Deon[/name]”)
[name]Robert[/name] [name]Caius[/name] Hitt(You can call him, “[name]Cai[/name]” like “[name]Kai[/name]”)
[name]Robert[/name] [name]Icarus[/name] Hitt(Ick-ah-russ; sure, you have the “ick” sound in it… but it’s rhythmically-enjoyable to the ears. Also, you can call him “[name]Russ[/name]”)
[name]Robert[/name] [name]Tobias[/name] (“[name]Toby[/name]”)
It’s getting late but I wanted to throw some ideas out there before I took my leave.
[name]Hope[/name] these spark some ideas of what you may/may not like.
I think [name]Abel[/name] is usable, but the Biblical [name]Cain[/name] isn’t the best namesake. I prefer [name]Abel[/name] spelled [name]Able[/name], that way it avoids the Biblical association and becomes a nice virtue name.
Inm that case, I [name]DO[/name] know who he is! lol I’ve picked [name]Robert[/name] because it’s my dad’s mn, but mostly, I think I love the nn [name]Robbie[/name]! Those are some nice combinations :]
I particularly love:
[name]Robert[/name] [name]Iain[/name]
[name]Robert[/name] [name]Alec[/name] &
[name]Robert[/name] [name]Caius[/name]
Thanks for those! I think I’m going to put those on the list for sure and run them by the SO. [name]Even[/name] though he says I can name our future child what I want. The craziest names that I give him, he just says “Go for it!” Too bad I’m one of those people that like input. But that’s what I have you berries for!
I really like [name]Abel[/name] and just adore the nn [name]Abe[/name], but I don’t think [name]Cain[/name] is useable because of the story of [name]Cain[/name] and [name]Abel[/name]. Too many bad associations (especially if he were to have a brother…)
