We are thinking of naming our son [name]Caleb[/name] and wanted some feedback on this name. Is [name]Caleb[/name] or [name]Kaleb[/name] a better spelling? Is this a solid name? We are Jewish and like that is of Hebrew origin - although we are NOT religious. His older brother’s name is [name]Brayden[/name] [name]Harris[/name].
Congratulations on not being religious, personally I wouldn’t want to name my child a religious name if I wasn’t affiliated, and I’m not, but [name]Caleb[/name] isn’t super religious. Oh and definitely with a C.
[name]Brayden[/name] [name]Harris[/name] and [name]Caleb[/name] middle name?
I think [name]Caleb[/name] is an awesome name! I want to put it on my list now! I think both spellings are nice, but when I see [name]Kaleb[/name], for some reason I think it’s a different pronounciation. Kah-leb instead of [name]Cay[/name]-leb. Which pronounciation do you like better?
As a bible name lover I instantly thought of the old testament [name]Caleb[/name] (and wondered how I didnt think of it!) but I think it’s still a cool name whether you are affiliated or not. But I dont know what other non affiliated people think.
I am Jewish and my son is [name]Thomas[/name] [name]Caleb[/name]. We spell his name the English/American way. However, his Hebrew name is Kalev. However, know that even though Kalev was one of two who were allowed into [name]Israel[/name] from [name]Moshe[/name]'s generation, most Israelis have a negative reaction because “kalev” is the word for dog. The name itself means loyal.
Definitely [name]Caleb[/name]. I’m not a huge fan of most alternate spellings. I usually steer towards traditional spellings. [name]Love[/name] the name!
My son is [name]Kaleb[/name], and I get compliments on his name all the time! We are not by any means religious, rather we chose the name because I had a dream while pregnant that the baby was a boy and my sister was calling him that. When I told his father the next morning he latched onto the name, with a ‘K’ for my mother [name]Katharine[/name], and wouldn’t even discuss other boys names from then on.
Had he not been so adamant, I might have gone with a slightly less common name, but now, of course, I can’t imagine him being anything other than [name]Kaleb[/name].
I’m not religious at all, (keeps me from ever using the name [name]Christian[/name]) but I would totally name my son [name]Caleb[/name] I prefer this spelling as well.
I prefer the [name]Caleb[/name] spelling. However my cousin is called [name]Kaleb[/name], so that spelling doesn’t bother me. I tend to steer clear of the trendy K though.
