Calla Lily?

Hey ya’ll! I’m fairly new to Nameberry and have been mostly lurking while finding names for my list I keep. I have just started thinking about middle names more seriously now that I have a solid list of first names, and was thinking of using [name_f]Calla[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f]. [name_f]Calla[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f]'s are both my mother and grandmothers favorite flower so I would really love to honor them both this way.

So I was wondering if you think it would be okay for a middle as Call [name_f]Lily[/name_f], or if I should hyphenate it [name_f]Calla[/name_f]-[name_f]Lily[/name_f] so it is one middle name rather than two, or if I should just stick with either [name_f]Calla[/name_f] or [name_f]Lily[/name_f]? I would use it with the first name [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] most likely.

I’m not quite ready for kids yet but was curious if I should just forget this or keep it in mind for the future.

Thank you so much for reading!

I personally would go with one or the other. [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f] sounds better to me than [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Calla[/name_f], but either would work. I don’t think you need the whole name of the flower to honor the connection.

Thanks for commenting! After thinking on it I do now think [name_f]Lily[/name_f] is still personal but not so obvious, I was worried too much on trying to make it clear it’s calla slily for other people I guess.

I would choose [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f], which sounds much nicer than [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Calla[/name_f]. [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Calla[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f] is a bit much imo.

Thank you for your input, [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]! I’m really bad with middle names ^^’

[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Calla[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f] (surname), for me, is a big mouthful. I think [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f] is beautiful. I also like [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Lilia[/name_f] and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Lilias[/name_f] if you are looking for something a bit unexpected.

[name_f]Calla[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f] is way too flowery for me. I like both names but I wouldn’t use both together.

I like [name_f]Calla[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f], but I think [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f] flows much better than [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Calla[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f].
