Callie or Calla

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone ~
I was wondering if y’all had any thoughts on the names [name_f]Calla[/name_f] and [name_f]Callie[/name_f]? [name_f]Callie[/name_f] is very sweet and has a southern vibe to it and [name_f]Calla[/name_f] is very unique and lovely. I would love y’alls thoughts on both of these names, thanks everyone!

Both are really nice! Personally I prefer [name_f]Callie[/name_f], I love it’s sweet charm. I think it’s a great balance of traditional and modern, and I like that it sounds sweet but also has a fiery edge.

However, [name_f]Calla[/name_f] is very elegant and cool too. It’s fresh and I like the flower connection. It’s also nice that you could go with [name_f]Calla[/name_f] and occasionally use [name_f]Callie[/name_f] as a nickname (or spell it [name_u]Cali[/name_u] if you want it to be shorter than Calla)

Both names are lovely but I would suggest [name_f]Calla[/name_f] as it is a bit formal sounding which may work well in certain circumstances especially when she is an adult, but the bonus is that [name_f]Callie[/name_f] can certainly be her nickname. Win-win!

I honestly love both. I prefer [name_f]Callie[/name_f] as a nickname (my personal favorite full name for it being Calista) and [name_f]Calla[/name_f] as a stand-alone name. They feel very different to me— [name_f]Callie[/name_f] being the more fun and modern feeling option, [name_f]Calla[/name_f] feeling more timeless and elegant. Both lovely, both totally usable.

I like both but I prefer [name_f]Calla[/name_f]. It sounds more sophisticated to me. [name_f]Callie[/name_f] gives me more of a southern vibe, like you said, which just isn’t really my personal style. I also just tend to prefer girl names that end in -a because I think they sound more complete.

i prefer calla, but both are nice. calla just sounds so stately and elegant and has a lovely floral vibe. callie is sweet, but maybe a bit… too sweet?
