After [name]Alexander[/name], my other top favorite name for such a long time was [name]Liam[/name]. At the moment, I feel like I couldn’t use the name because of two children in my center with it (one of them was in my class). I don’t really care about the popularity, I just feel like using the name would remind me of those children. I’m not ttc, just trying to strengthen my boys’ list.
I recently came across [name]Callum[/name], and I’m starting to think it would be a great alternative to [name]Liam[/name]. It has a very similar sound to me, and I really like the nn [name]Cal[/name]. I also love the meaning (dove), and the fact that it’s popular in the UK (I wish I lived in [name]England[/name] haha) and not in the US (where I actually do live).
The only negative for me is that with [name]Liam[/name], I would have used [name]Alexander[/name] as the mn, but it clashes with the L’s in [name]Callum[/name], so I wouldn’t be able to use that. That’s not a big deal though, because I’m sure I will be able to find a mn I love with it.
What are your thoughts on the name and on using it in the US?
[name]Callum[/name] is on my list, and very near the top. My boyfriend adores it, and though we’re a couple years away from having kids, having him admit to loving any name is a triumph.
I too love [name]Callum[/name] for all the reasons you do…I’ll probably pair it with [name]Robert[/name], as it’s meaningful for us.
I see that you have [name]Arlo[/name] and [name]Theodore[/name] on your list…either would make lovely middles for [name]Callum[/name]. I also like [name]Callum[/name] [name]Edward[/name]/[name]Edmund[/name]/[name]Edwin[/name], [name]Callum[/name] [name]James[/name], [name]Callum[/name] [name]Frederick[/name], [name]Callum[/name] [name]Archer[/name] and [name]Callum[/name] [name]Grey[/name].
@claireelise: [name]Callum[/name] [name]Gray[/name] (I like the spelling with the “a” better) was actually a random idea I had tonight before I posted this!
I love the name [name]Callum[/name]! My fiance seemed a little iffy when I mentioned it to him (for future kids) but maybe I can get it to grow on him, hehe. I think some good combos would be [name]Callum[/name] [name]Jude[/name], [name]Callum[/name] [name]James[/name], [name]Callum[/name] [name]Robert[/name], [name]Callum[/name] [name]David[/name] or [name]Callum[/name] [name]Ross[/name] (my fiance’s name :-)).
I really like [name]Callum[/name] [name]Rhys[/name]! Such a great combination. It looks wonderful, sounds fantastic - the names go together well stylistically and flow nicely.
