Camellia vs Camille?

What are the pros and cons of both? I feel like [name_f]Camille[/name_f], with the pronunciation on the second syllable, is a hard name to wear in many countries and might be easier as a middle name. Are there even any middle names that sound good with [name_f]Camille[/name_f]? And is [name_f]Camellia[/name_f] too long and frilly? (I hate [name_f]Camilla[/name_f]). Is it a problem that it contains the world camel? Would people pronounce it ca-[name_u]MELL[/name_u]-ee-uh? What are your reactions/impressions of both names?

bumping! thanks for the help in advance

I have to say for me I would vote hands down [name_f]Camellia[/name_f].
[name_f]Camille[/name_f] -
The Cons: Sounds harsher to me, the [name_m]French[/name_m] sound, although elegant leaves me feeling a bit cold. Also the meaning “young ceremonial attendant” is very lackluster.
The Pros: It is more recognizable and will therefore be easy to pronounce and spell for others.

[name_f]Camellia[/name_f] -
The Cons: It is much less common, some people may not even know this is a flower and may not know how to spell or pronounce it.
The Pros: It is more unique, the soft “meh” sound in the middle makes the name feel warmer and more romantic to me. The meaning of it as a flower name is more desirable. Also to note: the [name_f]Camellia[/name_f] is actually an exotic flower, the grouping that Camellias belong to has associations with the moon, water, wealth and perfection. If you follow the language of flowers that was used back in the day, Camellias were associated with feelings of admiration.

I hope this helps you with your decision!

I love [name_f]Camille[/name_f]. I like either pronunciation, ‘ca-[name_f]MIL[/name_f]’ or ‘ca-MEEL’

Prefer [name_f]Camilla[/name_f]

I really prefer [name_f]Camille[/name_f], but my favorite is [name_f]Camila[/name_f].

I adore [name_f]Camellia[/name_f] as a name and camellia flowers are one of my favorites. I think it’s perfect.

I want to like [name_f]Camille[/name_f] but I can’t. To me [name_f]Camille[/name_f] pronounced ka-MEEL sounds like a child with a speech impediment saying ‘come here’ and [name_f]Camille[/name_f] pronounce ka-[name_f]MIL[/name_f] sounds like ‘camel’.
