Thoughts on [name_f]Camille[/name_f] for a girl?

I like the [name_f]French[/name_f] pronunciation kah-mee, could I get away with that or would it be too difficult?

Does it go with [name_f]Lily[/name_f] and [name_f]Holly[/name_f], my other two favorites?

I think it might be a good middle name too and I like it with [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f]. [name_f]Camille[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f], [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] [name_f]Camille[/name_f] or maybe [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] [name_f]Camille[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f], [name_f]Ruby[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] [name_f]Camille[/name_f], [name_f]Ruby[/name_f] [name_f]Camille[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f], [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Camille[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] - still figuring the combos out

Which image do you get?

Here is mine:

I get the image of a really old church and candle lit passages as well as a girl in a white dress carrying a candle. Like a really nice, peaceful, bright and calm [name_m]Christmas[/name_m] image or white bedsheets and candles and roses.

I grew up in the US with a [name_f]Camille[/name_f] pronounced “kah-mee” and honestly always assumed “kah-mee” was a nickname for [name_f]Camille[/name_f] “kuh-meel” That said, I do think it works! People may spell it “Cami” though when they hear it out loud.

I think it works with [name_f]Lily[/name_f] and [name_f]Holly[/name_f]. [name_f]Lily[/name_f] and [name_f]Camille[/name_f] are especially sweet :sparkles:

[name_f]Camille[/name_f] makes me think of candles as well, especially with the [name_f]French[/name_f] pronunciation – it’s very shimmery and golden and white in color. I think of candles, doves, sunshine, the ocean, and white linen. For some reason I imagine a [name_f]Camille[/name_f] to be blonde, though obviously it works for anyone.

[name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_f]Camille[/name_f]!

I do think the [name_f]French[/name_f] pronunciation would be challenging to enforce in an English-speaking environment.

It does feel like a different style than [name_f]Lily[/name_f] and [name_f]Holly[/name_f], but the “l” sounds connect them quite nicely.

I also think it works really well as a middle name. I especially like [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] [name_f]Camille[/name_f] and [name_f]Ruby[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] [name_f]Camille[/name_f] from your current combos!

For imagery, I see floral gardens, Parisian cafés, and golden hour light filtered through white curtains.

[name_f]Camille[/name_f] is pretty - light, bright and delicate, but with plenty of substance. You could use the [name_f]French[/name_f] pronunciation, but I do think non-French speakers (esp. outside of France/French speaking areas) may say it ca-meel at first :person_shrugging: so if you don’t mind having to correct it, sure

Sound-wise it fits well with [name_f]Holly[/name_f] and [name_f]Lily[/name_f] - slightly different in vibe but it doesn’t sound odd with them - it would make a nice set.

[name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] [name_f]Camille[/name_f] is so pretty! As is [name_f]Camille[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f]!

I only like the [name_f]French[/name_f] pronunciation but I think it’d be a tough battle in the US

[name_f]Love[/name_f] your imagery for the name!

It’s definitely grown on me this year. It’s soft, yet strong. Great nn options too and underused imo.
