Can Aloe be a name?

I’ve heard about Severa being a name, which can be shortened to Vera. But can Aloe be a suitable first name or is it better fit as a middle name?

With names like Rue, [name_u]Sage[/name_u] and [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] being used, I think it could work. [name_u]Aloe[/name_u] has a pleasant sound

Yeah, it totally can work as a first name, I would pair it with a more traditional middle though!

I think its definitely better as a middle

[name_f]Vera[/name_f] is a name unrelated to [name_u]Aloe[/name_u] [name_f]Vera[/name_f]

I personally wouldn’t use it but I think it could be a cool hippy-ish middle. Maybe you’d like something like [name_f]Alice[/name_f] or [name_f]Alison[/name_f] nn Aloe?

I’m aware of that! I just thought since I had heard of people using a name that could be shortened to Vera. Thank you for your opinion.

I think it works! It has a fun, easy sound, and plant/nature names are popular right now. I’d be surprised but pleased to meet an Aloe. Personally I’d be more apt to use it as a middle, but I think it’s usable as a first too!

I’ve heard of Alo as a boys name so [name_u]Aloe[/name_u] is totally workable! And much cuter I think. I would see it more as a girl’s name.

I associate it with [name_u]Aloe[/name_u] Blacc (who is an awesome namesake) but I think it could be pretty cute on a little boy or girl :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I think it could work, but I wouldn’t use it.

To me, it is way too tied to the plant, [name_u]Aloe[/name_u] Vera. Where I live, if someone asks about or mentions [name_u]Aloe[/name_u], I immediately look for the plant or the plant based gels we have here as it is common to have on hand here, especially during our hot 8-9 months of the year. I don’t think of people.

I will also add that [name_f]Vera[/name_f] is a separate name to me that I don’t associate with the plant to the same extent because most people around here shorten the plant name from [name_u]Aloe[/name_u] [name_f]Vera[/name_f] to [name_u]Aloe[/name_u], never Vera.

Would be fine. I do think they’d get a lot of “ooh put some aloe on that burn!” from kids growing up but not the biggest deal, especially with the rise of botanical names

I think the world is not quite ready for [name_u]Aloe[/name_u]

It reminds me of [name_u]Aloe[/name_u] Blacc, who is lovely! I definitely think it’d be a bold choice, but I don’t think it’s unusable!
