[name]Just[/name] wonder,as it’s a nature name,and people rarely use it now…Is it usable?[name]Do[/name] you like a little girl names [name]Forest[/name]?
I think its pretty cute for a girl, but I don’t how other people will react.

I had a female boss named [name]Forrest[/name], but I’m sure the spelling could be either way. She did say everyone expected her to be male, she’s in her early 40s. I think in our day of baby naming though, it wouldn’t be as much of an issue. It’s all in whether you feel comfortable with unisex names or not.
It’s a word so technically it’s unisex… so it can be used on either… that said, it does have a more boyish sound to it and is more often used on boys…
Yes it’s unisex but more common for boys. I’m not crazy about it for either gender because there aren’t any nn that I like
Actually, now that I think about it I like [name]Estee[/name] as a nn, that way work for a girl [name]Forest[/name]
I think people tend to think of it as more of a boy’s name…I don’t know why, it has a soft sound and a gender-neutral image to me. The only person I’ve ever met with the name was a girl named [name]Kathryn[/name] [name]Forest[/name]. So I guess I associate it with girls. And the movie [name]Forrest[/name] Gump, which isn’t a negative to me!
If I were a little girl I wouldn’t like to be called [name]Forest[/name]- especially when other girls have pretty names.
Plus the the whole [name]Forest[/name] Gump link with a male character.
I would prefer [name]Autumn[/name] if I were having a tree related name.
I think it’s way too heavy for a girl.
I think it’s sweet. There are also names relating to woods/forests/glades that don’t sound forest-y at all. A couple I can think of: [name]Lennox[/name] (elm grove), [name]Ellery[/name] (island with elder trees), [name]Adair[/name] (oak tree ford), [name]Silas[/name] (wood), as well as all the tree names ([name]Juniper[/name], [name]Myrtle[/name], etc.)
I know a young woman named Foresta. I think this is an elegant option.
YES I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Forest[/name] on a girl have for years
I think [name]Forest[/name] has a very masculine, harsh sound. Personally, I wouldn’t give my daughter that name. I guess it could work as a middle name, as long as the first name was very feminine sounding (for balance purposes).
[name]Forrest[/name] is a legit name for a boy. [name]Forest[/name] is a nature name, so it’s unisex. I Think it could be cute on a little girl.
I prefer it for a boy actually. It’s a nice name!
I know it’s a word and from nature and so on so “technically its unisex” but to me its distinctly masculine. [name]Rose[/name] is a nature name but that doesn’t make it unisex, kwim?
I think in this day and age, [name]Forest[/name] could definitely be a girl’s name. Personally, I see no difference between [name]Forest[/name] and names like [name]Rowan[/name], [name]Morgan[/name], [name]Scout[/name], etc. that seem unisex. Actually, I tend to like [name]Forest[/name] better for a girl than a boy. I think it would be a fabulous pick if you choose to use it. Maybe paired with an ultra girly middle name?
[name]How[/name] about [name]Forest[/name] [name]Evangeline[/name], [name]Forest[/name] [name]Anastasia[/name], [name]Forest[/name] [name]Noelle[/name]?
I agree. I’m not on board with the logic that ‘nature name = unisex’. I wouldn’t call a boy [name]Fern[/name], either.
I never thought of [name]Forest[/name] as a girls’ name. It just sounds very harsh and masculine, I always picture a lumberjack. If it’s a name you love, then maybe it’s better as a middle name.

That’s because we typically don’t name boys after flowers. I see nothing wrong with a boy [name]Fern[/name] or [name]Willow[/name]. Also love [name]Hollis[/name], which people have decided belongs to the girls
But is girl [name]Forest[/name] all that different from girl [name]Briar[/name] or girl [name]Rowan[/name]? To me there is nothing feminine about any of them, but [name]Briar[/name] and [name]Rowan[/name] are accepted. Why is [name]Forest[/name] different?
I’d avoid the name [name]Forest[/name] for a girl for the same reason I wouldn’t name a girl [name]Bush[/name].
