Can I get some name suggestions that we might be able to agree on?

My husband’s Grandma’s name is [name]Idella[/name] and I love it. We want to use it in the middle spot… we know that for sure but it seems like that is about all we can agree on. We differ in tastes when it comes to first names.

My husband seems to be liking names popular in our.generation ([name]Jessica[/name], [name]Kelsey[/name], [name]Kayla[/name], [name]Brittany[/name]) and and unisex names that have gone towards the girl side ([name]Quinn[/name], [name]Blair[/name], [name]Reese[/name], [name]Shiloh[/name]) – I kind of like some of the unisex names.

I, however, am partial to nature and flower names (but he hates the idea of using a word as a name.) - so this is a no go :frowning:
I want a name that is unique. It can be a classic, but any that I have suggested have been vetoed for sounding too old ladyish. I know the right name is out there… I just don’t know what it is yet. Can I get some lists of names to suggest?

Oh… our last name ends in ‘er’ so we will need to avoid ‘r’ endings.

Here are a few thoughts:

Names that were popular, but not exactly peaking, in “our generation” (assuming you are your 20s-30s):

Not sure the -a endings are the best with the awesome [name]Idella[/name], but it’s OK.

Classic-ish names with a boyish nickname and/or spins on 80s names:
[name]Antonia[/name] nn [name]Toni[/name] (or [name]Annie[/name])
[name]Theresa[/name] nn [name]Reese[/name]
[name]Julia[/name] or [name]Juliet[/name] nn [name]Jules[/name]
[name]Christine[/name]/[name]Christina[/name] nn [name]Chris[/name]/[name]Chrissy[/name]
[name]Andrea[/name] nn [name]Andi[/name]/[name]Andie[/name]/[name]Andy[/name]
[name]Corinne[/name] nn [name]Corey[/name]
[name]Charlotte[/name] nn [name]Charlie[/name]
[name]Nicola[/name] nn [name]Nico[/name]
[name]Nicolette[/name] nn [name]Nico[/name]
[name]Francesca[/name] nn [name]Frankie[/name]
[name]Amandine[/name] (nn [name]Andy[/name]?)

Names with a non-frilly feel that are a little bit older than those mentioned
[name]Frances[/name] (nn [name]Frankie[/name]?)
[name]Alice[/name] (nn [name]Allie[/name]?)

More of the recent unisex names just not yet mentioned

[name]Audrey[/name] [name]Idella[/name], [name]Amandine[/name] [name]Idella[/name], [name]Amy[/name] [name]Idella[/name], [name]Juliet[/name] [name]Idella[/name], [name]Frances[/name] [name]Idella[/name], [name]Christine[/name] [name]Idella[/name], [name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Idella[/name], [name]Colette[/name] [name]Idella[/name], [name]Alice[/name] [name]Idella[/name], and [name]Corinne[/name] [name]Idella[/name] are gorgeous!
While they’re not my style, the recent unisex names do work nicely.

Anything working?

Here are some names almost like the ones you listed that your husband likes
[name]Britannia[/name], [name]Jessamy[/name], [name]Jasmine[/name], [name]Genevieve[/name], [name]Corinne[/name], [name]Quincy[/name], [name]Theresa[/name], [name]Marisa[/name], [name]Blythe[/name], [name]Susanna[/name]…maybe you’ll like one?

[name]Keila[/name], [name]Leila[/name], [name]Lina[/name], [name]Janay[/name], [name]Portia[/name], [name]Bailey[/name], [name]Riley[/name],
