Can I use "Joy" as a boys middle name?

I think you totally can! I prefer the sound of it as the 2nd middle, though. Plus, that gives him the option of only using his 1st middle initial if he’s concerned about being embarrassed if someone asks what the J stands for. But, honestly, I think that’s really unlikely to happen. Middle names are so rarely used. I didn’t know all my friends’ middle names in school, and I’m a name nerd! [name]How[/name] often do you think it happens that a boy asks another boy what his middle name is?

I wouldn’t do it.

I have friends who have particularly interesting middle names that they felt awful about in grade school and still prefer that people don’t know. Why risk giving him a traditionally feminine name when there are so many other creative ways to honor your grandfather? I liked the suggestion of 3 names which are an acronym for [name]JOY[/name].

I’m possibly the only one who thinks this but I hate it on a boy
