Can Thea or Ella be a nickname for Thelma? (Sorry poll went wrong)

Hello Berries,

Sorry, I left the single choice option on my other thread.

My husband likes Thea and Ella, I like Thelma. Can Ella or Thea be a nickname for Thelma? That would be a great compromise. If no, any other nickname ideas? He also likes Emma.

Thank you!

  • Thea: Yes
  • Thea: No, too far of a stretch
  • Ella: Yes

Thea is more my style but both work well!

My great grandmother’s name was [name_f]Thelma[/name_f] [name_f]Emma[/name_f] I think both nicknames work just fine!

Because they are all self-contained names with the same number of syllables, I think using [name_f]Thea[/name_f] and [name_f]Ella[/name_f] as nicknames is counterintuitive. However, lots of nicknames can catch on with consistent use!
