I know [name_f]Thea[/name_f] is a name in itself, and it’s honestly one i’m quite fond of. However, when paired with [name_m]Harrison[/name_m] (who goes by [name_m]Harrison[/name_m] and not Harry) is it too nicknamey? We were set on [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] for a girl, but met a few people with the name since then and haven’t liked any of them so it’s out lol
[name_f]Theodora[/name_f] is “meh” to me, but I like that you can get [name_f]Thea[/name_f] from it or [name_u]Teddy[/name_u]. Grandpas are [name_m]Ed[/name_m] and [name_u]Timothy[/name_u] so I also like that it’s a mashup of those two names. Grandma is [name_f]Thelma[/name_f] as well so I feel like [name_f]Thea[/name_f] is a trendy spin on that. Another catch- I can’t see myself ever calling her [name_f]Theodora[/name_f], so I don’t know if having a “full” name is even worth it??
Give me all your suggestions and pairings!
Middle would be either [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] (Janis [name_f]Joplin[/name_f] reference) or [name_f]Mavis[/name_f] (songbird, brother’s middle is Jay)
Other girl names on my radar:
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]
[name_f]Coraline[/name_f] (can’t use, stepbrother’s daughter is Cora)
[name_f]Madelyn[/name_f]
[name_f]Maggie[/name_f]
[name_f]Annie[/name_f]
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f]
If you’ve read this much, thanks for supporting my name nerd habit =)
[name_f]Thea[/name_f] pairs very well with big brother [name_m]Harrison[/name_m], I don’t think she’s too nicknamey at all!
[name_f]Thea[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] is awesome (I love [name_u]Janis[/name_u] [name_f]Joplin[/name_f] ) but [name_f]Thea[/name_f] [name_f]Mavis[/name_f] is great too!!
I second [name_f]Thea[/name_f] [name_f]Mavis[/name_f]! Though I really like [name_f]Thelma[/name_f] as well, once you brought it up it was hard not to latch onto
I like Thea!! Maybe if you want a longer name you can use [name_f]Dorothea[/name_f] but I think that [name_f]Thea[/name_f] goes best with [name_m]Harrison[/name_m]
[name_f]Thea[/name_f] works for me - I’ve known plenty of siblings with names of different lengths and I can see [name_f]Thea[/name_f] and [name_m]Harrison[/name_m] alongside each other
[name_f]Thea[/name_f] is definitely fine as a stand-alone name and I don’t think [name_f]Thea[/name_f] sounds odd with [name_m]Harrison[/name_m] at all.
I think [name_f]Thea[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] is beautiful
[name_f]Thea[/name_f] can definitely work as a standalone name, and while idk if it stylistically matches [name_m]Harrison[/name_m] they certainly don’t sound weird together!
Its fine to use [name_f]Theodora[/name_f] and always call her [name_f]Thea[/name_f] or [name_u]Teddy[/name_u]. [name_f]My[/name_f] name is like this and it’s never bugged me. But I do think [name_f]Thea[/name_f] is fine on its own too.
I’m always partial to just naming your baby what you actually want to call them. If you never see yourself using a full name, then I’d say just go with [name_f]Thea[/name_f]. I think it’s a beautiful name and definitely can stand on its own.
I absolutely think [name_f]Thea[/name_f] can stand alone! It’s sweet and solid, and it’s definitely on trend for shorter names. Considering your feelings on longer forms of [name_f]Thea[/name_f], I think Thea’s the right choice for you. [name_f]Thea[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] and [name_f]Thea[/name_f] [name_f]Mavis[/name_f] are great! [name_f]Thea[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] is simple and bright, and [name_f]Thea[/name_f] [name_f]Mavis[/name_f] has a wonderfuly funky quality.
[name_f]Thea[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] is gorgeous! And I don’t think [name_f]Thea[/name_f] needs a longer version at all, even with your son’s name being a longer name with a nickname. I don’t think that matters at all. [name_m]Harrison[/name_m] and [name_f]Thea[/name_f] made a lovely pair!
Thea Pearl and Thea Mavis are so beautiful! I think those stand alone really nicely, and I don’t think that Harrison and Thea sounds bad - it sounds so cute.
